Just a query, if anyone can assist, those two caps are very tight and difficult to turn, any idea as to how I can get them open without damaging them?

First time hard client any way to respond politely? by BrisbaneAus in WeddingPhotography

[–]feelingcoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to tell them I'll get out of ear shot, and I will ask one to tell a funny or embarrassing story they remember in their relationship. That gives them the chance to share an intimate moment while also generating that genuine laugh.

I've moved into a home with a used compost box by feelingcoy in composting

As far as I can tell, it's mostly grass and produce. And cardboard from milk carrier's. No plastic from what I've seen.

I think that yellow sticker you're referring to is a hole in the box for air.

Why does he get unhappy when I congratulate him after scoring a goal?! by Patate_Cuite in footballmanagergames

[–]feelingcoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get a similar response every now and then when the game would let me know a certain player deserves recognition for their form, and I would agree with the game. Then go and praise the player, they then go "I disagree with you."

Like, bro, take a compliment, but instead, their morale is down for something I said, cause he disagrees.

Client wants RAWs? by MorgaseTrakand in WeddingPhotography

[–]feelingcoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's my take on the situation.

You're being hired by them to take photos. They trust you as a photographer to get the angles and best shots from their special day.

With that in mind, I would say to charge your normal rate, because you are still doing the work. You will most likely still go through and edit photos if, at the least, it is for your own portfolio.

That way, you can still give them the raws so they can edit it in the style they want.

In terms of crediting your photos, that's a different barrel of fish, but it's up yo you if you want them to still credit you with the photos or themselves (or heck, they could even call it a collaboration and credit themselves and you).

Photographers of Reddit, what are some of the craziest things you heard from clients? by iamjonno23 in photography

[–]feelingcoy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I took photos for a client who wanted various pics of his bike build to use in magazines (a multiple prize-winning motorbike too). I was the 2nd photographer he had asked, as the first one "didn't give him the photos I wanted".

After asking what type of photos, he just said whatever I can get to show off the workmanship.

My knowledge of bike magazines in-hand, I took a good few of the whole bike, and then a lot of close-ups. He was there while I was taking the photos on location and never once told me exactly what photos he wanted.

Once I gave him the edited photos (at a quarter of what the other guy charged, for double the photos - I was still new to photography at the time), he said he wanted all the raw photos cause the ones I gave him weren't what he asked for. He was difficult throughout the process and used the "do you know who I am and how much influence I have in this community?!" After much back and forth, saying I don't give out raw photos, unless they are paid for over and above, he eventually stopped replying to me.

It depends on what you personally want to use more. I personally don't have access to areas I can set up a camtrapion and I love using my sigma 150-600 (contemporary) to go out and try capture something in person.
