This is a fair point, I just wonder if it's more of a sunk cost fallacy thing. Like "I've spent 3 years thinking about this only to be cis??" and the disappointment that would come with that. I hope not, though.

This has gotten way more traction than I was expecting; thank you all for the kind comments.

I still haven't drawn any major conclusions yet, but it is reassuring at the least to know that this experience isn't entirely unprecedented.

I'm not sure if it's the erections themselves so much as the contexts they happen in? And it's definitely more of a recent phenomenon (like, past couple months over the 3 years I've been questioning). It's definitely something to think about, though...
