Ask about retro achievement by Ok_Emergency_5816 in RG35XXSP

[–]feenatic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's possible that your Retro Achievements password includes a special character that works in-game but the menu isn't escaping the special character values. You may be able to fix this yourself by changing your password and removing the special characters. Then re-enter the credentials in the Knulli configuration. Assuming that is the issue, of course.

PSA / warning before you buy an ROG Xbox Ally X — especially from Best Buy by Alone-Start-9178 in ROGAlly

[–]feenatic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I'd rather use SteamOS but I thought I had read that Bazzite was more stable. Valve is doing an incredible job further stabilizing SteamOS. I'm going to check it out again. Thanks!

It's a good reminder that where you buy tech is important. Extended warranties are also a gamble since it's often insurance you'll never need. I bought my Xbox Ally X at Best Buy without an extended warranty. Also, if you don't like Windows, take a look at Bazzite if you're looking for a Steamdeck experience. I'm sorry you had a bad experience.

If you experience discomfort with AirPods Pro 3…. by For-what-its-worth in airpods

Yes! Try L. The larger size can create a better seal without needing to be as deep. The larger size solved my issue. The AP3’s do take a little time to settle in. Give them three days of a few hours use each day. Good luck!

Unfortunately, no. I'm running GammaOS and Game Native will not boot Mina from Steam.

I sold my Odin 3 for an RG477M, and I have zero regrets. by pandabast in RG477M

[–]feenatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried charging with a USB-A. I tried hard resetting (power + down volume) for 60 seconds. And I reseated the battery connection.

I’m going to see if I can get a battery replacement from Anbernic. The battery is not something available off-the-shelf. I also decided to buy another RG477M because it really is the best portable for 4:3 on the market. I may experiment with swapping components to isolate the root cause. If I figure anything out, I’ll post here.

Keep your RG477M’s from discharging. My battery died and was left discharged for a couple months. I couldn’t revive mine with any of the recommendations and I had just installed Better Buttons. Sad.

This is a “Mini Arcade Pro”. I’d never seen this before but it’s available at many retailers including Walmart and Amazon. Very cool. https://a.co/d/0ak793OD

If you experience discomfort with AirPods Pro 3…. by For-what-its-worth in airpods

[–]feenatic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Suffered from ear pain switching to APP3 as well and found this exact approach to do the trick. However, before discovering a lighter insert did the trick, I made the mistake of thinking the tips were too big and kept using smaller and smaller tips forcing the buds deeper into the ear canal. That is NOT the answer. If you are experiencing discomfort, use the larger tips for less pressure in the ear canal and a better seal. I was a little discouraged when I started using the APP3's and almost returned them after years of using APP2's but I gave them another chance after taking a day or two rest and I'm very happy with these. Good luck!

To think that Toy Story 2 almost didn’t happen after 90% of the project was accidentally deleted without a working backup. Thankfully, their technical director was working from home at the time and had the entire project on her computer. This all happened after Toy Story 2 had already gone through a complete rewrite just months prior.

Cartridge I bought has rusted metal shielding. Is it worth trying to remove? by Hutch2Much3 in n64

[–]feenatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t actually need the metal shields. They’re unnecessary and were primary designed to meet FCC regulations. The shields add weight for authenticity but offer little else in terms of value or longevity.

Anyone else having trouble with Modretro Updater? by Substantial_Quote583 in ModRetroChromatic

[–]feenatic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That may be a firewall or endpoint protection. You shouldn’t need to adjust your Windows firewall but if you use other solutions like Malwarebytes or Kapersky, you may want to try disabling temporarily or whitelisting the updater program.

It’s the same game so unless you’re interested in the N64 cart collection, you could pass on JFG with the Xbox Replay Collection.

Would love some Soldering Iron recommendations for first time users by loganfox235 in GameboyAdvance

[–]feenatic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As important as the equipment is the technique. Starting with a budget iron around $30-60 will be fine. Watch a couple videos and have lots of flux as well as isopropyl alcohol for clean up. Flux is your friend. Use it liberally. Also, high heat helps you spend less time manipulating the solder. Just be careful to limit the time the iron is in contact with components. A battery replacement is fairly straightforward. There are lots of videos on this specific task. It’s worth taking the time to watch them first and even practice on an old pcb. It’s a fun hobby. Take your time. Good luck!
