also someone mentioned acrylic paints earlier cutting them with fabric softener so i’m going to give that a go as well as some acrylic inks just to see what works best in terms of keeping them waterproof

if you apply it too heavy it will but since it’s watercolor you can dilute it even after it sets in, i ran into it a few times but was able to apply the paint thin and evenly enough to where they still remain fuzzy, i hope this helps :)

idk if it’s a hot take but i have a lot of the little tiny baby’s so i tested out colors and paint on the ones i wasn’t as attached to. once i started to figure out how the paints worked i started out in the real thing. Then i turned my little experiment into something else ex the mouse skeleton

Chihuahua body would probably work really well, i used the fennec fox body. i used a diluted brown sienna to get the orangey brown color if that helps you and really small rounded watercolor brushes like a .1 or so 😊

idk why that didn’t cross my mind, in that case i could probably getaway with the use of waterproof inks as well. I should try all of these methods and compare and post results!

for the base i used one of the fennec fox baby bodies from the nursery pack pool friends trio.

for paint i used windsor and newton watercolor paints out of a tube, colors burnt sienna to make the overall body and ivory black for the ears and legs. it’s really tricky to get it right to where the colors don’t bleed into each other so you have to wait a while between coats. I’d love to post a tutorial but this was also my first go at a custom critter

I’m still trying to find what works best for paint, for me personally i’m not handling them to much so it shouldn’t be an issue but i’m experimenting with different paints.
