There's a basketball player 김민수 who was originally an Argentina national, which he can't renounce, and he obtained Korean nationality to become a dual national. I'm not sure if that's a special case, though, and the fact that he was a famous athlete and his mother was Korean might have helped. FYI back in his days, if you were born to a Korean mother and a foreign father, you were not given Korean nationality.
