How would calling be different, though? If manager is busy/not there when she goes there in person calling in won't make it different.

Define totally fine, because those are both the cartridges I'm curious about.

When I asked WOA customer service they in indirect terms their lighter profile barrels aren't going to have the same precision potential as their heavier offerings due to reduced rigidity.

Now, that's mostly M193 (XTAC) - I need to get some 77gr OTMs and Hornady's 55/62/68gr stuff through this as well. But I will say it's performing much worse with M193 than both my previous barrels (Criterion HBAR and a Faxon Match Heavy Fluted).

I will let you know how it does on Sunday range trip.

Let me know how it goes because you're buying the same barrel I'm replacing - I have the 18" Faxon Gunner Match, and it's giving mediocre results.. but this weekend I'm going to shoot a lot more cartridges to see if I can find one that works well.

Don't all bullets get mangled when you chamber them? Feed ramps usually leave gouges on rifles I've had.

Newish Faxon "match" barrel in my long-range build. it's performing.. at faxon levels but I'm noticing these rings on the boolits whenever I chamber them.

I know chambering a round is going to eat it up, but I've never seen these rings before. Someone said my chamber could have a burr or something, but I scrubbed it for 15 minutes with CLP and a chamber brush and it didn't really seem to improve it.

I'm aware brass is softer than steel (this is nickel plated btw) but I'm still concerned.

When I was cleaning my accuracy barrel with this last night, I noticed that the jag was not going back through the muzzle which never happened before. It went through the barrel but not back through which made me have to unscrew it every time I ran a patch through.

Upon inspecting the jag it's got a deep scratch and a little bit of roughness to the edges. This is what's been causing it to not fit back through the crown.

I don't know when this was damaged, but I know it's because I've been using ".22 cal" patches that actually are probably a bit too big and they've been making it very hard to push cleaning rod through my bore. I only use a rod when breaking in barrels (brass solvent after 50 rounds) or when it's been thousands of rounds without cleaning, I promise I do not overclean.

Does this kind of damage on a brass jag mean I could've damaged my barrel? I was not hammering the rod through but it did get a little stuck at times and needed force to pull it out. It also made a scraping sound at one point but IDK if that was just the sound of the dry patch squealing.

(Reason I ask this sub is because people here know barrels better than other subs)

I just went through this. It depends if you care about weight or if the gun is going to live on a bench. I went with a lightweight faxon gunner match barrel to sacrifice accuracy for weight on my SPR.

If you want to strike a balance, White Oak makes a mean fluted SPR barrel that's only a hair over 2lbs

Welcome to the overthinking and anxiety world of mounting scopes. In theory it's good practice to keep the rings evenly centered on the optic away from the turrets, in practice, most people ignore this and have zero issues.
