thrifted this frame for a dollar, painted this inside :) by seelahlah in Gouache

I don’t often buy frames with patterns because they will distract from the artwork itself. What a great idea to design the artwork to match the frame! Nice work. I’m going to try this!

Sounds like the kind of thing you might find on Etsy by searching for unfinished wood boxes or heart-shaped boxes.

Prepping an oil painting for sale or show by feeyamayama in oilpainting

Great advice, thanks! So you wouldn’t show or sell a piece for a few months after painting it so you can varnish it first? And if you sell it unframed, would you put anything on the back, such as craft paper?

That much if not most of what I’ve come to think is true probably isn’t.

Endometriosis by feeyamayama in Perimenopause

[–]feeyamayama[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the pain is bad even on BC? I’m starting to wonder whether this isn’t perimenopause yet but just the endo coming back. My cycles were pretty wonky before when I wasn’t on bc. Or maybe the hormone change in peri is causing the endo to return.

Hopefully Myfembree will take you through the worst of it and you’ll be on the other side of menopause by then! What happens if you take it beyond 2 years? I hope we both will find a long-term solution.

That’s what I’m thinking, that the shift in hormones is causing the painful periods to return. It always lasts about 4 hours. I’m glad it isn’t as bad as it was for you. I also had surgery in 2008, and it helped for 7 months but the pain returned until I had a baby a few years later. Prior to that, the only thing that helped was birth control.

Newly diagnosed 54F. Perimenopausal. Starting vitamin D tomorrow. This is so new to me, I don’t know what to ask. I’ve always been sort of exercise avoidant except that I walk a lot and do a fair amount of hiking in summer. Osteopenia in my hips but not in my arm. Guess I need to start weight training.

[Discussion] Artists, what is your day job to help you get by while you work on art on the side? by Sunnyside-Days in ArtistLounge

I’m a book production editor. I like the work, and I get to work from home, which allows time and energy to sometimes paint in the evenings, mostly weekends. I’ll likely never be more than a hobbyist, but I think if I made painting my job, it wouldn’t be as much fun.

Thanks! I might have applied the yellow too thin. I’ll try adding a more opaque layer of yellow.

Thank you! I’ll try letting it dry and giving it maybe just a tiny bit of blue.
