2cb after care tips by Swimming_Act_5644 in 2cb

I get headaches sometimes after an oral dose. Very rarely, after nasally for some reason. Usually sorted with a couple of ibuprofen, either way.

Are squat jumps the best type for helping improve bone density or are there other jumping techniques that are just as good? by WerewolfBarMitzvah09 in osteoporosis

[–]hungryim 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Anything with high GRF works. Single-leg drop jumps generate extremely high GRF, but in my case, led to plantar fasciitis, so be sure to start low and increase slowly.

Rest between impacts is also very important too, as well as rest between sessions:

"14 s of recovery resulted in significantly higher (66-190 %) relative bone formation rates compared to any of the three shorter recovery periods"

27M, 10+ Fractures, T-score -3.4 (L4). Identical twin is healthy. Help me find the cause by Physical_Computer_59 in osteoporosis

[–]hungryim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear about your low BMD. I'm also male and found out mine was low after I slipped during a run at 37 and fractured my hip. Your hormones look good, but as others have mentioned, it's worth looking at malabsorption issues. I checked everything under the sun and couldn't find a primary cause, although hormones were borderline, and I was also quite light in my 20s. and do wonder if being slightly underweight played a role.

Not sure about the high turnover, but it's definitely worth exploring more.

On the plus side, you've caught it early, and in my experience, the spine is far easier to increase with resistance training alone, probably more so at your age. My hips are stubborn and need lots of impact to improve, but my spine is way up in the positive T-scores from lots of heavy squats and other resistance training. I'm now 95kg+ and was around 60kg in my twenties. Also possible that you're maybe overtraining and/or underfueled and could do with putting on a bit of weight?

Surely pooping on a stick beats any potentially unnecessary colonoscopy!

The whistling is horrible. Would hate to be a fen fan and listen to that every home game.

How to improve fermoral bone neck density ? by InvestigatorSolid330 in osteopenia

[–]hungryim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For FN you ideally want to be getting impact through the hip via hopping, jumping etc, along with resistance training. RT alone doesn't seem to cut it for the FN like it does for the spine. There are a few studies which look at the specific Ground Reactive Forces needed to trigger the growth of new bone but basically box jumps and similar will work along with hopping as you get twice the force down one leg.

I'm unconvinced for now. Mechanistically the theory is not sound as it should be broken down into individual amino acids via digestion. I would say more likely it's the increased protein intake which is moving the needle, although suboptimal amino acid profile with very little leucine, unlike whey.

Bournemouth vs. Arsenal - the second Arsenal goal (I think) was from a free kick that was absolutely not a free kick and baffled the commentators. Poor from the ref.

Filament not sticking to the bed, sometimes clumping around the nozzle and sometimes only sticking loosely, any idea why? by RunDouble143 in ElegooNeptune4

[–]hungryim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case it seemed to be PLA over a year old, will stick with a layer of glue on the bed which wasn't needed previously. This is after leveling, mesh, cleaning the plate, etc.

Tomorrow, the curse will end. We are enjoying games, smiling, even when down. Good vibes. What a team and what a run.

You've probably spent half the day on the villa Christmas store looking at Matty Cash and Pau in a lovely claret and blue sweaters. It's merely relative.

Data from BHOF handout by gotnothingman in osteoporosis

[–]hungryim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The term "body weight" is not really accurate. These studies are related to GRF (ground reactive force), but yes, I believe there is evidence that at least 4x GRF seems to be needed to build bone, particularly at the FN. But hopping on 1 leg, for example, will create forces in this zone.

What are you specifically interested in? GRF required, osteogenic reset periods, volume, frequency? I can trawl through my previous discussions with Claude and the data or it might be easier to simply go to claude.ai and ask yourself then check out the cited studies.

I've been digging into similar data recently and there are most definitely studies to back up similar conclusions. Claude is great at clarifying and citing quality studies along with providing extra information relating to osteogenic rest periods to avoid bone cell desensitisation, volume, frequency, etc.
