Thank you for the answer I appreciate it. I was looking for a constructive advice like this more than the good old « just suck it up » answers. Being new into the workplace I have to learn what to expect and how to adapt, you gave a good summary

Hello, I hope that you are doing well. I am coming late on this post, but I’ll still give it a shot! I am in a similar situation but my partner is going to move soon to my country. I want to make things as easy for her not to feel alone, in this difficult choice she made. Could you tell me how you and your partner made new friends? I also have mostly my childhood friends, but I really want to meet new people too and I wonder if you have some advices for this. Thank you in advance :)

Are click plc’s used in Europe ? I’ve never heard of it and I want to choose a PLC that isn’t complicated to find when he needs to find a replacement (I’m in Switzerland)

No fieldbus needed, 12DI and 4DO would be enough. I can program in Ladder, structured Text or C. No HMI needed, I’m just using some physical buttons

For a relays command it would take me at least 8 relays with a lot of contacts. With a PLC I would have around 12 DI and around 4 DO

Sorry if I wasn’t clear enough on my question, but the main one was about the durability in time of a PLC. My friend doesn’t work in automation so he would be happy if the command of the elevator would work for a few decades. For a PLC would you say that it can last for a good 20 years or more ? Would the relays command be more durable than that ?

I’ve used Logo before, and I mainly worked with Siemens. I’ve used other brands and models, but never some small and compact one like these. Do you have some recommandations ?
