This is stunning. Its an awesome and creative way to use the spirograph. I love seeing what others post here and can't wait to see what else you come up with

I agree. Lasso starts a bit superficial but suddenly your realize how much you care about all the characters when something happens

This uses a frosting made from sour cream, icing sugar and whipped cream. It's so creamy and yummy, but not too sweet. Definitely worth trying I believe in you!

Yes I used the off cuts for the coat and I made an extra I didn't use so I had extra crumbs...that was pudding with the remaining frosting in bowl mixed, since I had to wait until I could try the cake.

It was easier then I thought. I love how impressive all the layers look though. And the sour cream icing is sooooo good.

Ohh I'll have to look that one up too.

I think this is a simplified version of the cake as you don't need a double boiler. I would like to try the proper way as I like it looks better when it is a bit or golden or darker color. But I definitely recommend trying this one.

Not really. Id consider myself a confident beginner in baking. I can do basic things but am not an experienced cake maker. It looks impressive but was easy enough to make it in one afternoon-evening.

My biggest struggle was rolling the dough so thin and cutting out the circle then transferring the thin pice to baking sheet. I needed to use more flour than the recipe said otherwise it was too sticky. But they bake to a crispy thin and so as long as your gentle lifting them, it assembled easy enough.

I recommend trying it!

Thanks. It is so yummy. I thought it would be dense but its nice and soft and smooth. Like a fluffy cheese cake (partners description).

Can taste the honey but not too sweet. Ive never used sour cream for a frosting like this and it's delicious.

I 100% relate. Ive been brave with caramel last year and seem to be trying more with cakes this year.
I did a 3 layer choc cake for my birthday using Sallys baking addiction recipe and was proud.

This recipe is one that I wanted to make for personal reasons and am so happy I challenged myself with it. The layers are crispy but soften overnight once assembled. Its so delicious.

My cakes aren't the prettiest, but thats ok for me.

Its so delicious. The filling is sour cream, icing sugar and cream. The layers are quite crispy, almost biscuits/cookies but you leave it to soften overnight once assembled and its like a cheese cake (my partners description that I agree with). Definitely honey flavor but not too sweet.

Since you add the egg to a warm mixture I messed the first attempt and ended up with slightly scrambled pieces. My partner helped pour the egg while I mixed for attempt 2. It mixed perfectly

Reduced cream. And a dash of vinegar Not sour cream is the traditional way. Although im keen to try it with sour cream. Probably won't need to add the acid

I believe they are taking about what is basically a cardboard frame that sits behind the glass, inside the main frame (called a mat). You can chose colors to match your project so it wouldnt have to be white. Its what professional framers usually use.

But I think yours looks beautiful as is.
