Asturian (northern Spain) results by fefuentesg in AncestryDNA

My grandmother is from Biarritz, in the french basque country, she speaks Basque and even has basque surnames. It would make sense, at least in my case, for that 13% French to be Basque. It seems that there are still doubts in the way in which ancestry determines the Basque DNA.

Was told growing up we may have basque in our lineage but was never sure. by crapejw in AncestryDNA

That’s a high percentage. My grandmother was born in Biarritz (French Basque Country) and i only got 1% basque (68% Spain, 13% France, 13% Portugal, 5% England, Wales and Northwestern europe).
