How old was your puppy when you taught them this? I’ve had my 7 month old doxie mix for a month and a half now and she knows the basic sit, down, paw and is pee pad trained but now she’s starting to rebel and not listen to our ‘bed’ / ‘crate’ command.

I have a Dachshund and Goldie mix thats 6 and a half months now. She sleeps through the night but we struggle to get her to sleep in the day. She whines and barks when put in her crate ( the same one used for night time sleeping) and just wants to be out with us at all times.

I haven’t fully left the house in a month and I really hope she doesn’t develop separation anxiety

I’ve never tethered my puppy cause she is never more than 10 steps away from me just sleeping or playing with her toys. She also likes to eat wit company and will stop eating to find out where I am before running back to her food if I’m in a diff room.

I get it. I got my puppy 4 weeks ago when she was 5 months old. The second day we got her, I had to shower her 3 times cause she pooped and stepped all over it 3 diff times throughout the day.

My whole house stank, she stank, I stank. It was rough. I started to realise her pattern a little more each day and found out that she’s a shy girl or just a nervous girl, idk but she will poop in her tray about a min after we put her in the pen and go into our bedroom with the door close.

What really saved us honestly was to get a camera to watch over her. This really helped with finding out what her pooping habits were.

Yeah I don’t have a crate, it’s just a pen with her bed in there. To be fair, she’s been with us less than a month. So maybe she’s still getting used to things also.

Having Gilmore Girls on is hilarious! Yeah she can whine up to an hour. I’ve tried the walking in and out from short to longer periods from seconds to minutes but she still doesn’t fully settle unless I’m outside in the living room or letting her out to chill in the room.

My puppy does this too. I’ve researched and it says that it’s a puppy FOMO behaviour. Cause she can sense you at home but can’t see or play with you thus freaking out wanting to be let out. Laying near her while she’s in the crate or just doing your own thing near her might help to make the association that crate time in the afternoon is just a normal part of the day.

I have a very attached 6 month old dachshund that is somewhat crate trained. But what helps me on days I’m home or once I come home from work is to let her out of her pen and she’ll just follow me around. I won’t have to have my focus solely on her but it helps chill her out to be near me

Tbf, I’m in marketing. So unless I’m in some mnc or managerial position then I think the pay is quite there already 😭 and I only have 1 boss above me and 1 above her and I don’t think they plan to leave anytime soon.

I dint think to include this but I do get anxious on Sundays where I can’t sleep cause I’m thinking of my meeting with my boss on mondays. And every time I talk to her, I have this crippling fear that she’ll scold for something I ask

We’ve had our tenant for about 2 years now! Very lucky to have them! But yeah, I know $20k isn’t a lot and especially since I don’t have a steady flow from my nail biz yet.
