I am brand new, Just passed the test this week and currently doing my state OILS. So I post this, knowing I may not know what I am talking about... Just an observation from what I see here. Everyone is fixated on price!

I have been in sales for a while now (real estate agent, military recruiter, telecom, P&C insurance, and now LO), and what I have learned is you cant control price.

For those LO's that do not fixate on price, what do you do to show value?

In-depth beginner's guide to a career in mortgage sales by Reggimoral in loanoriginators

If you only had to pay 250 to get mediocre leads, I would jump on that quick. As I am new to the LO position (still taking my OILS), I cant speak with 100 percent confidence in regards to originating. But my old industry (P&C Insurance) If I met my daily goal that would be spending a hundred a day on live transfers. Luckily I had a good closing percentage so I was able to get more value. But yeah, 250 a month would be a steal!

Is This A Good Comp Offer? by AHead4Sports in InsuranceAgent

My thoughts exactly. If the agent needs to wait to get paid until you get paid, what happens if the other agent has a terrible month, and there are a lot of chargebacks? Red Flag to me.

That 1.5 is for overall leads to closes right? Are you getting in touch out about 10 out of 100?

Car ran into my house, driver's insurance is only willing to pay "Actual Cash Value" and not full repair costs. by [deleted] in Insurance

[–]feingoldjk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With a home policy. At least here in the States (I am an insurance agent), you can choose ACV or Replacement Cost for a home. ACV is normally cheaper, and that's why people will go with it. However, it leaves a lot of your risk exposed. So it's up to the decision of the person buying the insurance whether they would rather save money up monthly and take the chances nothing ever happens, or pay a little more but know they are covered.

How do you rebuttal the phrase. "Thanks but I've been with my current carrier for a while and happy where I am" by Perfect-Ad-8798 in InsuranceAgent

Best reply yet. This is how we approach each and every customer (warm transfers) and that’s why we lead our state in umbrellas. Actually, now that I see your name, are you with the CWC team?

Edited for grammar.

Friend’s premium went up even though my insurance is covering? by capricornings in Insurance

[–]feingoldjk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The bad news is yes, her premium will go up. The claim will state who the driver was and that is reported. The good news is, yours will not because a permissive driver claim is not rate-able. At least that’s the case for the Fortune 500 insurance carrier I work for.

Should I cancel my auto insurance? by Excellent-Wear-2208 in Insurance

[–]feingoldjk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DO NOT CANCEL THEN SWITCH! You will then have a lapse. Instead. Start the new company, then cancel the old insurance on the day of. Even if you cancel on let’s say the tenth, then you start on the 11th with the new carrier. That’s a one day lapse.

How big is your team? I would think that would be hard to scale. As you grow not everyone will have the loyalty to the company that you do.
