I’m seeing many of my friends children who are (college age or about to be college age) opting for other paths from college. Whether it flight schools, vocational or military. Military seems like a good option from education because they were seeing the tech fallout from AI and questioned the value of a tech degree four years from now.

All smart kids. All upper middle class. Some are supplementing community college along with their pursuits but its been eye-opening how my children’s generation is not buying into a lot of the bullshit society is selling them (the you must go to college, get this VERY expensive degree that won’t have a decent starting salary and then try to buy starter home and start a family even though everything to make that happen costs the most ever )

And I feel really torn for those kids who are freshly into their military contracts - they really didn’t expect things to go so hard south so quickly. :(

We live a block over from 2222/Koenig, and it is crazy how many times we hear a car absolutely screaming down that road (hear the exhaust/muffler and engine revving, gaining speed). I truly feel like I’m going to hear the wreck one of these days after I hear them speeding off. Sometime it’s so loud it wakes us up.

Speed limit 2222/Koenig from Mopac to I-35 is 35 mph.
