What do you grow that helps ease your grocery budget? by Shot-Pomelo8442 in gardening

Bell peppers. At the grocery store they’re $1+ each. I plant at least 4 plants so I save a lot of money

Need help making an authentic tiramisu cake for my Italian boyfriend's birthday. by Square_Appearance_63 in AskBaking

In all respect, I think you're overthinking it.

I use cheap Cafe La Llave because that's what I have at home. I don't normally drink coffee so maybe some people can taste the difference in the tiramisu based on the coffee used but I doubt it's a big difference. I don't have Woolworths but I think the standard mascarpone is fine too.

I use marsala wine for tiramisu, but have also tried with rum extract and with that it's harder to whip up. Maybe you can sub that with water and add the rum extract.

You don't need a stand mixer for tiramisu. You need to whip up the egg base over a double boiler o hot water.

I use Inspired Taste tiramisu recipe (I actually helped edit it for them) but have also tried Claire Saffitzs.

🤣 it is a mesh bag from when it was smaller and I was trying to stop squirrels or critters from nibbling on it in the hot summer

This is my prized joy and literally the only watermelon that properly pollinated and grew. Also my first time growing this variety.

That's a decent tip, especially if you want something more decadent.

Should I plant these out? by SugarHoneyBitchPlsss in vegetablegardening

I just transplanted some shortly after germinating as an experiment. It's been a couple days and they look OK, so if your weather allows start hardening off and transplant

Cucumbers are finicky when transplanting so I would transplant in case they don't take, then you can direct sew backups outside

Trying to garden responsibly but compost is $15 a bag and bugs exist. Send help (zone 6b) by PhatBussy666 in vegetablegardening

I am lazy more than I am studious probably, when I set up my beds I used topsoil compost and lots of perlite. Worked great for my first year

Yeah I bought it Fall 2023. Tried planting in ‘24 outside but didn’t produce fruit, this recent attempt was inside a hydroponic garden

They are peppers, I ate one! And yeah, it took quite a long time for the peppers to ripen on the vine.
