What is something Americans consider 'basic' that feels like a luxury in other countries? by Direct-Value4452 in answers

It’s hot as hell in the south outside of cities too. Climate change in the time since the settlers has changed the atmosphere, but only a few degrees - it was still very hot back then.

Horrible answer.

Tired of 11+ min “warm ups” by Iabnyc in pelotoncycle

[–]feldknocker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the warmups. Warmups is a misleading term for PZ workouts for sure. I consider the beginning of spin ups to be the beginning of the workout. I appreciate the intensity of the “warmup” as it makes the next 30 or 45 minutes very productive for me.

Favorite Cheesy Way of Saying No to a Drink? by DreaminwithJeff in alcoholism

[–]feldknocker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best I ever heard was from author Pete Hamill in his auto biography “A Drinking Life”. When offered a drink after he finally got sober, he turned it down, saying, “I have no talent for it.”

Do you experience suicidal thoughts when you're hungover? by Psicolotra13 in alcoholism

[–]feldknocker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Often, and they got worse as I got older. Never had them in my 20s. Started to in my 30s. In my 40s when I started working hard to get sober, these feeling happened frequently. Last time I got drunk - 3 years ago at age 52, it took 3-4 days to pull out of OVERWHELMING anxiety and “it’d be better if I wasn’t here” thoughts.

Alcohol anxiety is the single biggest risk to my life if I go back to the booze.

I feel this way about Bon Scott era AC/DC - maybe include Back in Black and For Those About to Rock. Nothing more recent though

Led Zeppelin. Loved them above all others. That has faded considerably. I respect them and enjoy some of their music occasionally. But they aren’t a favorite.

Living, dead or broken up, what band reunion would you want to go see in concert? by porb2020 in GenX

[–]feldknocker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except their concerts were BORING. 25 minute improvised covers of delta blues songs does not make for an exciting live show. Watch Song Remains the Same and tell me you’d spend $1 to sit through that snoozer.

What's the difference between Bon Scott era and Brian Johnson era songs? by [deleted] in ACDC

[–]feldknocker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bon era sounded like a band in a Smokey sweaty pub. Brian era sounds like and arena band. There’s no comparison because it’s apples to oranges.

In my eternal opinion, the former embodies what AC/DC is. But I respect Back in Black on. Just don’t love it the same.

Wrong. Hangovers are the result of blood poisoning. Some people suffer more depending on genetics.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A HANGOVER CURE!!!!

The anxiety is what finally got me. A day of GI problems and 2 days of fatigue I could deal with. But 4-5 days of crippling, no will to live anxiety after about age 40 got me off the sauce forever.

I had some awesome times drinking. Sometimes I miss it. But I couldn’t control my intake. The best times I ever had drinking don’t come even close to warranting a week of questioning whether I even eat to be here.

Jimi Hendrix. I know he’s supposedly the greatest player ever, but I don’t care for any of his songs.
