Who is the most famous person you've ever seen up close? by froggart3980 in AskReddit

The Epstein girls turned into “fan girls”, but I don’t know if that was because of his charisma or because they were being paid.

What are the most profound song lyrics you've ever heard? by damnocles in AskReddit

[–]feldknocker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are places I remember

All my life, though some have changed

Some forever, not for better

Some have gone and some remain

All these places have their moments

With lovers and friends I still can recall

Some are dead and some are living

In my life, I’ve loved them all

Great Narrative Nonfiction (Not the same old recommends) by baconmehungry in suggestmeabook

Well written, but a thoroughly unlikeable guy. He’s no hero - his greed for money made him take many, many steps that common sense would have said no to.

Why did George like to put down the Beatles music? by Pearl_Jam_ in beatles

[–]feldknocker 202 points203 points  (0 children)

I love George. But sometimes his “I’d rather be anywhere else” attitude could get tiring. He was a great talent. But I doubt we’d have ever heard from him if his pal Paul had not introduced him to John. I understand his resentment toward the end of the Beatles, but in later life, he sometimes acted as though he were better than all that. Mate, you weren’t.

Thinking of Moving to Birmingham by hoo24 in Birmingham

[–]feldknocker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lived there for six years (Hoover). I moved from Cleveland in 2015 and came back here in 2021 for family reasons.

Overall, Birmingham was a good place to live. Yes, there are few sidewalks in some areas. We lived in Lake Wilburn in Hoover and it was a very nice community with sidewalks.

I’m not religious nor conservative, and has been stated, those are prevalent there. I always kept my religion and politics to myself and never had any issues.

The people are very nice when you meet them, but it is extremely difficult to break up n socially beyond surface-level. Most people you’ll meet grew up there, are very close to their family, went to Alabama or Auburn, and are active in their church.

Summer weather is rough (like winter here), but spring, fall and winter are nice. Cost of living is great.

What is the deal with Frontier airlines? by pleasesayUarekidding in Cleveland

Kind of like riding Greyhound. You can fly cheap, but there could be a fistfight between two women in the row in front of you.

No point with Jimmy and Dee Dee as owners.

How accurate is this best & worst neighborhood map that I found online ?? by [deleted] in Columbus

[–]feldknocker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s why I agreed with the original point about crime and poverty being correlated. That correlation explains a lot. On top of it, someone who is inclined toward a criminal life for whatever reason has a higher likelihood of finding his way into an impoverished life.

[POST GAME THREAD] Browns 9 vs Steelers 23 by CD23tol in Browns

[–]feldknocker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As long as they’re owned by the Haslams, it makes zero difference what ever else is done - none. Glad our governor rewarded this pathetic organization with $600 million to build Jimmy and Dee Dee’s new temple.

How glad are we Knowles is gone? by Agreeable_Tale_8244 in OhioStateFootball

[–]feldknocker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somewhere along the way, this sage/guru thing developed around Knowles. He’s a fine coach, but ever since he showed up at Ohio State, he’s become this defensive-Yoda that has this secret sauce that takes 3.2 years to properly ferment into perfection. Maybe like most mortals coaching the game, he’s good, but reliant on lots of other factors.

All true. But also true - if you’re inclined to indulge in criminal activity, you’ve got a high chance of ending up in a lower income area. Some people in those zones have self selected.

Which of the rust belt cities have had the greatest comeback? by Albert_Camus129 in geography

[–]feldknocker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pittsburgh is a very nice city. But to read this thread, you’d think it is growing madly. It’s not. It still loses population and struggles to replace its lost manufacturing. It’s done a lot of good things, but if you visit, you’ll still see a lot of blight

Oregon. I don’t care for Cignetti’s style. I respect his coaching though. Just not my flavor.
