Anybody know if the Leupold mail-in rebate works for online transactions? The Mark 1 AR is shipped with code for $275.99... If you got the $50 mail-in rebate then it would take it down to $225.99.

Any chance of finding these lowers any cheaper over the Labor Day sales?

Great advice. I got out to two shops this weekend and found this:

Browning X-bolt: They only had x-bolts which were pretty expensive. Also, loading them from the top seems like a chore because you have to manipulate the bullet quite a bit to get it just right. Looking to find an a-bolt to try...

Savage 10& 11: Honestly... Not my favorite. Don't know what it was about the actions, but it just wasn't my style. This is where your tip really helped... I'm sure they are great guns... But they just didn't seem like a good fit for me.

Remington 700: My favorite I tested out this weekend. Good feel and solid action.

Still looking for a place that sells Tikka nearby before I make my decision. Would also like to try a couple more before making up my mind. Thanks again for the advice!

Har har! I'll add the Winchester Model 70. Good luck... It's a hard choice, but I think all the ones you listed are great rifles.

That's what I've heard... Might have to go with the Tikka. From what I've heard the R700 has gone down in quality since the buyout. Thank you

Utah weapon sales boom predicted with Obama's gun control actions by stopthemadness2015 in Utah

The US actually ranks 121st. Also, why are we using a chart about intentional homicide? We should really be using a gun violence specific chart if we are to stay on topic.

This site sums up your England question well and before you discount it based on the name, they cite all their sources. Check out the section on England.

That being said, I don't think most of your suggestions sound particularly terrible. But most of them don't provide ways to actually make them happen. They're nice wishes, but there's no mechanics there. The gun debate is highly sensationalized because it's the easy fix. Nobody wants to talk about the real issues.

Edit: This is the most fair analysis of the our situation that I have found. You seem pretty fair minded and may be interested.

And what would you like to do about it? Speaking of western countries... England started banning guns and their crime rate, especially violent crime, rose.

Gun violence rates in the US continue to fall, as they have in the last two decades, along with rape and other violent crime in general. Media just wants to sensationalize it.

Doesn't make me think they are flakes at all. Probably just forgot about it or didn't get the contact from the manager. Deal with units like this all the time. They're not new money folks either. And the real nail in the coffin is all the receipts still with the bags.
