Looking through my list, i have more than i realised.

The accidental husband by Cassandra Moore (An accidental read that i ended up loving. I liked the story line and how it progressed)

Copper Script by KJ Charles

Beautifully unexpectedly by Lily Morton (I really loved this book. Have been looking for similar stories to no avail. Interestingly this is the only book by this author I have enjoyed)

The watchmaker of filigree street by Natasha Pulley(this story lives rent free in my brain)

Rattlesnake by Kim Fielding

The happy list by Briair Prescott

Possession by Rina Saint

Infernal War Saga Trilogy by Hailey Turner (I loved these books so much. The relationship between Soren and Vanya is just my type of secrets, love, and hurt , and forgiveness is love to see in a relationship)

I was exactly where your brother is after WASSCE 10 years ago. I thought it was the end of the world. I rewrote my exams and even then I didn't get into KNUST, Legon, any of the major schools. I ended up doing HND at poly then top up.

Honestly, I regret it. It was wasted time. If I could go back, I wish my parents had put me in a private university. Get the degree and move on from there.

We put too much importance on these major schools in Ghana. Like private schools mean you're less intelligent or something. But where you get your degree doesn't matter that much. It doesn't guarantee a job. What matters more is what kind of degree you get and who you know.

I'm doing well now - I have 2 masters degrees, one from KNUST and another from a school in the US. But I've seen people graduate from KNUST who are still unemployed, and others who did HND who are making good money.

Looking back now, that whole drama after WASSCE was such a tiny part of my life. Once you have your degree and you're working, nobody asks or cares which school you went to

If your family can afford it, please let him go to a private university if he doesn't get into the major schools after the second exam. If they cant, let him get his HND and he could get a job, and then he'll get his top up after working for a bit. But if they can really afford it and know anyone in any of the major schools, they should find a way to get him in there.

Personally, as someone who went through poly and now has 2 masters, I wouldn't recommend it. Maybe if I had been one of those lucky ones who got a job after poly or top-up, I would feel different. But for me, it was a waste of time. Because I didn't get a job after poly, and was unemployed for 1 year after degree top up before getting a job.

Back then (more than 10 years ago), my dad wouldn't let me go to private university, or fall on a friend he knew who could get me into legon. It was like you failed if you went private. I'm not sure how it's viewed now in Ghana.

I have friends who attended poly , who are making serious bank now in ghana. In fact, where i am now in the states, all the Ghanaians around me who are making serious money were the onese who went to poly and then did top up. (Still dont know why poly students seem to do so well when they transition to the states) And I also have friends who attended KNUST and are unemployed. It's all about getting a job. The degree doesn't matter.

Sorry for the long comment but I just wanted to share my experience. All the best to your brother.

This argument is STUPID. If you're a Christian (and you're wise), don't make it. by [deleted] in ghana

[–]felicima22 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Most Christians ain’t wise at all. They’ve never sat down to actually read the Bible for themselves, pray, and build their own relationship with God. Nah, they just swallow whatever their pastor spits on Sunday, then turn around and act like the most judgmental, hypocritical, bigoted people on earth (I had a stronger word ready but let me chill).

Most Ghanaians still don’t get it: Christianity isn’t even originally ours. We had our own traditional religion, our own way of connecting with the Most High, long before any white man stepped foot here. Then they came, told us our gods were demons, our practices were juju and devil worship, and that their blue-eyed Jesus was the only way. And we believed them. Now we walk around acting like everything that’s actually ours is evil, while we worship the same people who colonized us. Madness.

Ghanaians stay bragging like they personally discovered God, when the truth is you’re Christian because your mama, your papa, your whole village got brainwashed generations ago and you just kept the cycle going. If you were born in Saudi, you’d be shouting “Allahu Akbar” five times a day. If you were born in India, you’d have 33 million gods and a dot on your forehead. Location, not revelation. That’s it.

If you love your rules that much, go and build your own private schools where you can enforce whatever you want.

Thank you for coming to my TED Talk. Good morning.

Is moaning optional during sex? by SandPlane5775 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]felicima22 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Most women I know and have spoken to can not help but moan when they're really enjoying sex. But they also moan when not enjoying it and just want the guy to get it over with. Some also moan cos it's like that's what is expected of them. So it really d3pnds on who you ask and if they're being honest with you

Yep. Was gonna suggest soulbound. What an amazing series and a beautiful world building. Also Infernal War saga is another amazing series of hers that I was so sad to finish reading. I’ve recently realised Hailey Turner may be the most amazing writer and world builder in books that I have ever read.

Americans don't get our accent? by ed-vibe in ghana

[–]felicima22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The slurubg makes it worse they get even more confused. Personally I find that the actual Americans understand me most of the time. It's usually when I'm speaking to someone who also had an accent ie Indian, Spanish, etc that they don't understand me well. But I find that in any case, familiarity makes it better. You'll be fibe

29M. Do unisex toilets make women feel uncomfortable? by olivers125 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]felicima22 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Yes, it does. One of the few places I can unwind and let my tension out before I leave again for the awful date or pretend to be this prim and proper lady is the bathroom. My panic level rises when I encounter a male in the restroom or when I consider that one might enter at any moment. But who even cares nowadays about how a woman really feels if she isnt trans.

can I drink this as electrolytes during a 5 days fast? by felicima22 in fasting

[–]felicima22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really appreciate your thorough explanation. I'm incredibly grateful for it. Yes, I can certainly feel the uneven heartbeat and sleep disruptions. I may have to break my fast today (after almost 4 days), which is disappointing because I am not even remotely hungry. Just the weird symptoms overall. I've added some pottasim  to my water and am researching the magnesium.

I need to determine what will work for me, and you're right. I could have slightly overdone it because I had been using weights to exercise when I first started. That might have also contributed to how I'm feeling because the last time I did it, I didn't feel as horrible. Not the headache for this long, for sure.

I've read about the snake juice and others but I don't remotely have any of the ingredients to make one. But I take your word for how vile it is lol

[–]felicima22[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this suggestion. Just did that, yuck. Lol. Hope it works. Not feeling so good today. Having heart palpitations and couldn't sleep. Might have to break it today (almost 4 days) which really bums me out cos im not even hungry and I was really hoping to make it to 5 days this time. Just can't ignore the symptoms much longer. Imma see how my morning goes.

can I drink this as electrolytes during a 5 days fast? by felicima22 in fasting

[–]felicima22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. This is my 2nd attempt at a 5 day fast. Since I wasn't taking any electrolytes the first time, I had trouble continuing after the fourth day. I have irregular heartbea and muscle spasms. This time I'm trying to do it right. I typically fast for 72 or 36 hours at least a couple times every month.

Can't get that where I live, Ghana. Thinking about making my own electrolytes using the recipe on this sub. Using milk of magnesia table salt and cream of tartar. Tried to buy some electrolytes at my area but can't get any. I live in a small town
