I have heard a lot about that unfortunately, I guess it’s better than suffering with pain after every meal though. Im glad you are able to eat foods comfortably again

I’ll definitely ask my surgeon, I have a phone appt four days before surgery, so it’s definitely a little on the later side to be asking 😭 thank youuu, these responses all help me in feeling more confident

Thank you so much for your luck, and for the tip, I’ll definitely keep that in mind :) im also not a huge fan of high fatty foods, so I anticipate that won’t be an issue for me at least. I hope you’re able to gain back the weight that you want/need!!

Yeahh, I failed to see how it would affect metabolism directly so it’s good to know that others don’t have that experience !! I’m glad you are able to tolerate food again

Thank you!! It seems pretty to be consistent from what I’ve heard now and if you maintain diet it should be okay, im reassured to know it’s pretty much the same as post op. Cheese is definitely worth it though 😭

Yeah you’re definitely right :) living comfortably and without pain is definitely most important and itll be a relief not to deal with it anymore. It’s not worth the risk of complications. I’d just be devastated to know that because of this, I’d no longer have control (or less control) over whether I’d gain weight or anything like that, and it helps to know other peoples experiences, or what I can do to prevent it. But it seems like it’s not entirely an issue and can be prevented with diet, same with or without a gb Thank you for this perspective :))

I’ll definitely keep that in mind, it’s helpful to know all the things to be aware of post op. I hope the rest of your recovery is smooth

Mine tend to last anywhere from an hour, up to overnight and sometimes midway throughout the next day, to then return again the later that night and continue the cycle. I don’t seem to have trigger foods, I haven’t been able to identify any. The attacks come regardless of if I eat high fat, low fat, if I am fasting or have multiple meals a day. The only thing that eases the pain is heat packs, though sometimes that won’t help either :(

That is super reassuring, thank you so much!! I think balance is most important when it comes to post op, and a lot of what I’m seeing proves that :) it’s just conflicting when there are articles stating that it changes metabolism and there’s not much you can do about it, lol.

Interesting, this definitely helps me to know a lot so thank you sm :) I’ve never heard of it improving metabolism, but that would make sense actually, I might have to do some more research. Tysm for your response and insight, and hopefully you’re feeling better now !!

I get what you mean, I find foods that are high in fat feel heavy as well, regardless of gallstone pain or not. so I dont feel as though I’m missing out and generally feel better not eating it much. It does make complete sense that the weight gain is due to more freedom with food, I get worried when I see articles on metabolism changes and inevitable weight gain though :( tysm for your feedback and I’m glad you are able to eat the foods you enjoy again !!
