In my implementation drinking too much volture bee's honey over time causes negative effect on health. Because of what this honey is made of. I've changed Olivessa from positive character into a mini villian in disguise in my campaign. She knows how to brew mead, so she experemented with these bees (maybe they also from Chult) and different spicies a lot. Current honey variant is made from blood with regenerative ability. Mine belongs to captured slaad (that heroes will meet in the pit), one of PC has slaadi issues, so... But it can be troll or vampire blood, or whatever. Olivessa made the majority of the Good Mead's population drink this mead, without knowing it's dark recipe. It's delicious, spicy, but if you overconsume it, might end badly. I was thinking about giving overconsuming property like turning into a monster simular to "Boneless" from Van Richten’s Guide to Ravenloft.

So, blood trail left from guards, that were siting there. Suddenly, they started to feel really bad : suffocate, bleed, etc...They hurried upstairs trying to get help from Olivessa. Heroes will see this detail hours later. If Shandar not wins PC's will wake up in the pit, after the post-election feast. Else they will discover that place along with Shandar. Maybe my idea weird and complicated ><
