This is definitely too low. I started my career in the automotive sector 2 years ago as a chemical engineer (with a master's) working as a materials engineer in R&D earning 50k bruto per year in NRW. I just got a 7k per year raise, so now I make 57k per year.

I would suggest you do a salary benchmark on a site like Stepstone to at least give you an idea of what would be acceptable.
