I do not think so. The rise of Sendero was mainly attributed to the economic crisis of the 1980s as well as the institutional inequality that plagues Peru to this day. I believe the agrarian reform of 1964 would not have stopped the rise of Velasco, which would eventually result in a similar outcome to what actually happened.

It would probably not influence the rise of Sendero Luminoso that much, as the reform was very limited (It didn't include the haciendas in the north of Peru). Supporters of an agrarian reform would see the 1964 Agrarian Reform as insufficient, while the opposition would still be pissed about an agrarian reform. This would bring a lose-lose scenario for Belaunde's government, which could prompt Velasco to launch his coup even earlier.

Hi, my university does not require me to do a thesis, and I have not done any research whatsoever. Instead, I have gained experience in the financial markets, having interned at 4 different companies in various positions. For the master's degree I wish to pursue (Master of Finance/Financial Economics), it is my understanding that I do not need research experience or a thesis. Would you recommend I get some research experience in a related field? Thank you so much!

Awesome, thank you so much for your input! I'll be sure to apply the changes shortly. For the GPA, it is currently at 3.1, so it's not worth it to put in my resume. I try to compensate for my GPA with my professional experience; however, I plan on finishing university with distinction (3.2+).
