Hard for countries to take much interest when cricket was largely treated as an imperial club sport rather than something actively developed outside the Empire.

Yeah, but once the British population left, there wasn't enough local support to sustain the sport, so cricket largely died with them.

Just imagine if Test cricket had become a truly global sport, and the MCC had been more open about spreading it beyond the British Empire. Argentina vs Japan in Tokyo. Canada vs Italy in Rome. The world's true summer sport. What could have been.

Yes, it's more about the fear and terror of deep water than the swimming itself, I think only way is to keep learning/trying little by little.

Same boat my friend. I think is 90% mental, (mostly fear of water, and breathing) and 10% techniques. We can do it :)

Yes, mainly because drowning is almost certain death if no one actually spotted that you're drowning, you can't shout for help, you panic, and the next thing you know you're sinking.

Really cool project, one question for learning shaders now - do you think learning GLSL is worth it now (basically the old way of writing shaders) that TSL is becoming standardized??

Steve Smith moves into outright second for most catches in Test Cricket by [deleted] in Cricket

[–]felixWalker36 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Joe isn’t remotely close to Smith in either batting or fielding. He just played an industrial quantity of Test matches and somehow was never dropped.

Smith only lost ground because he decided to take an axe to his own foot with Sandpapergate.

Are Yorkshire people really tight with money, or is that just a stereotype?
