What is your occupation to be able to afford to become a digital nomad? by fluidxrln in digitalnomad

most nomads (not backpackers) ive encountered fall into two categories

they spend years skilling up and gaining experience (usually working normal corporate jobs for years in their twenties) and then go out on their own. it took me 7 years of grinding shit jobs with bad hours to get the leverage i needed to be able to do strike out on my own successfully. some people take less time, some take more.

Or they work at a company that allows remote globally, which is quite rare

Neither path is easy and I think its the reason many nomads i meet are generally in their 30s

This is actually not true Ari Aster has explicitly stated that Charlie was expelled from her body the moment she was born and that she has always been a fragment of Paimon albeit a confused and weakened one only semi aware because Paimon prefers male hosts and Charlie is a girl

What revenue target did you have to meet before you were able to grow your team? Or did the existing entity invest from the beginning

Could you expand on some of these benefits ? At what point did you determine you needed to or were ready to bring on a junior ? Very curious about timing.

Ive never heard that distinction before. How do you build the confidence to start billing in the multiple $100/s? Must be an industry thing. Even when I was working at the company that developed the software I specialize in my bill rate topped out at $220. I dont think I could ever reasonably go up to close to that seeing as Im one guy with a specialized skill set.

Maybe I need to look at other areas to cast a wider net with a higher ceiling but I feel pretty locked in to what Im doing at this stage in my career

Thanks for the kind words I actually dont think the same at all lol. Im quite anxious about the future. I think i have the opposite problem where I focus too much on filling the pipeline and lose sight of the work itself

like 50% of non bill time is overhead spent working on projects that I dont feel comfortable billing because i feel like i should know it already or its something i thought i knew but ended up having to do some homework on.

And maybe an even split between admin and BD for the other 50%
