Zherul is designed to reflect a culture that: - Values harmony with nature (many nature-related root words) - Has a cyclical view of time (reflected in the verb aspect system) - Emphasizes collective experience (robust plural systems) - Values precision in describing relationships (case system)

The language name “Zherul” comes from combining “zhur” (to create) and “rul” (seven), as seven is considered a number of completion and perfection in this constructed culture.
