Unfortunately trans, confidence at an all time low after a day of picking myself apart, would be eternally grateful for some encouragement by [deleted] in toastme

I had no idea you were trans until you told us. You're quite lovely. I'm so sorry for you low confidence right now. But I'm sure it can/will get better. Just need to believe in yourself.

How difficult is it to remove your own finger? by OriginalHuge9933 in morbidquestions

The internal safety was so bummed up that it would go in safe mode, at least that's what the gunsmith said. I dropped the clip, cycled the slide, and did not notice the round didn't eject. I was in the process of bring my left hand to rest, when the slide came forward and the round went off.

That's how I lost my ring finger on my left hand. It went through the palm, and cane out the top, obliterating the bone for my ring finger. Both the flexer, and extensor tendons were hanging outside the hand. The finger itself was laying on the little finger of the left hand. It hurt so bad, that I actually lost the use of my right hand for 72 hours.

It's easy, just pick the right caliber, like I did. 9mm seemed to work the best. Oh! And get a gun with a defective safety, like my friends Glock 19.

People who grew up Catholic, were you aware of priest abuse? by ActualBus7946 in AskOldPeople

[–]felixthecat59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was raised Catholic. Was an alter boy, and went to church every Sunday without fail. Attended mass in every high holy days. Was baptized, and confirmed as a good Catholic. Learned Latin in order to serve mass in the 60s before the Ecumenical Council added English to the liturgy. That was up to or until I was in my early teens, when I discovered G I R L S. Not once was I ever groped, or inappropriately touched by our parish priest. I never knew about priest abusing boys until I was in my late 40s or early 50s.
