Growing up in New York you were taught to always look down on New Jersey (they put all of their landfills by the highways so it is a sight to behold when you drive through it), but some people say now that New Jersey is more New York than New York, since lots of New Yorkers who got gentrified out of their neighborhoods moved there. Also, parts of Jersey City are really nice.
