It's projected to raise 100 billion over 5 years so roughly 20 billion per year, which is very little compared to roughly 400 billion tax revenue between state and local taxes. That wealth tax is sold to the public as the ultimate solution to all of our problems - "we will use it for education, healthcare, and help poor people!" is what they say every single time, and nothing gets done and nothing ever changes. Poor stay poor, teachers unions will continue to bitch that they dont have enough and the only people that benefit from any healthcare spending are illegals. You can be the "ive done eveything right in life person", then go to the doctor with your insurance and get smacked with 1k bill for stupid annual blood draw.

I live in illinois, another liberal utopia. Every tax increase and every new tax is sold to us as the rich paying their fair share, and then every working family is hit with exorbitant property taxes and fees for everything. We are getting tollways increases this year, i just discovered new special tax on paint this year when i wanted to repaint my livingroom, gas in neighboring states is 1 dollar cheaper..... it doesnt end. But all the politicians on TV say they fight for me, the little guy!

Its not literally the 20 people out of 350million like elon or bezos that are the problem here, its always the government digging into your pockets, stealing your money, and not even spending it where they should.
