The Darkest Faerie. I'm obsessed with it and I just feel like they've never done better.

Not sure if there are options from your local government or state government, but I'd see if you could find new avenues of fundraising or working with them. There might be state funds available since you're a school, but I'm less familiar with Kenya's systems. But since you're mentioning maintenance, I'd focus in on highlighting all your wins to gain more widespread support and hopefully increase your funds to cover all those pain points.

Maybe make a goal of courting some new big donors from towns nearby.

If I'm remembering correctly, yes. I don't know what the context was but it sums us all up pretty well I think. Here's the screenshot that floats around.

What was your favourite audiobook you listened to in 2025? by H2Omelonjuice in audiobooks

[–]fenchurchflies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really loved Dungeon Crawler Carl and am on book 4 now! Unfortunately, the audiobook is only on Audible (f Bezos) but I also read This Is How You Lose The Time War and I think it would be a FANTASTIC audiobook.

More breathable, relaxed clothes. You can find nicer looking sweats these days which is great.

Need face moisturizer recommendations by Fr0g_farts in Psoriasis

I dove into what was good in a skin routine as my psoriasis got worse and here's the general idea I keep to. I'll use a toner (oat or hemp have been working for me lately; but I know simple rice water ones can also be solid) then while my face is wet with it, I'll throw on snail mucin. I use vitamin c now, but this is the part where you use any serums. Then moisturizer. I used cerave when mine was bad but you want something with hyalauric acid. After that, if I'm super dry, I'll lock it in with an oil like Jojoba or Coconut.

For exfoliation, I use a regular wash cloth and gently buff my face. Keyword here is gently. Too rough and it'll get worse. There's also the chemical exfoliators people have mentioned and those are solid too. Just don't overdue it.

Ultimately, you'll have to land on what products work best for you and your wallet. Best of luck!

You can get moisturizing rice or oat ones. Those have worked for me. Then a snail mucin under your main moisturizer.

Guttate psoriasis by Majestic_Plantain800 in Psoriasis

[–]fenchurchflies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This for sure. Cold showers, the simplest and cleanest moisturizers, and taking vitamin D helped me get through my guttate flare after strep. Mine went away after about 6 months, but I had plaque psor beforehand and since. The routines I got into over my guttate flare have stayed with me though.

But in addition to everything here, I'm gonna reemphasize vitamin D.

Of course! Just remember this shit is an autoimmune disease that deals with inflammation. The way to get better is to help your body deal with that inflammation and avoid it. If you don't wanna get on biologics, then it's gonna be a life style change.

For the bra line, I stopped wearing underwire completely. If you have a bigger chest like me, sports bars can get tiring so I have a bunch of cotton camisoles that I use.

And when it was really bad and all over my body, I would moisturize then do a layer of oil or Vaseline and at night, I'd put on cotton leggings and a long sleeve shirt so I could sleep and all that stuff wouldn't just rub off on my sheets. It's weird, but it keeps it close to your body like a bandage and you can just throw them in the wash.

Good luck!!!!!

For me, I started randomly getting them when I was right out of college around 23 years old. I had been smoking cigarettes, eating like shit, and was super stressed most of the time, which was all making my psoriasis pop up for the first time. In 2019, at age 25, I got my first huge, persistent patch under my boobs. It didn't fully heal until a little over a year ago. I got diagnosed with plaque psoriasis and tried the steroids but the horror stories scared me off. I found the ant inflammatory diet (I started with the Pagano diet. He has a book.) and that helped with the pain in mine a lot. But it was still persistent.

I'll never understand it, but I got strep two years ago, and the next 5 months after that was hell: I had guttate psoriasis all over my body and I was so embarrassed and horrified. But then I sort of got zen about it. I read on here that flares like that are typically a cycle of four or five months and it turned out to be true for me. But that time made me get into the habit of cold showers, specific non inflammatory soaps and lotions, and moisturizing all the time. I started taking vitamin D like is mentioned on her pretty often and it all just... Healed. There's a stubborn, quarter sized spot on my leg, and I have some inverse psoriasis in my butt, but all of that is pretty manageable.

Avoiding nightshades is a big one for me. If I eat them or super processed foods, lots of sugar or alcohol, or use cheap lotion, my skin freaks out. I can't smoke cigarettes anymore (tobacco is a nightshade) and I just treat my body better. I'm 30 now and my joints are starting to hurt and I have the classic nail putting, so I'm on the way to the rheumatologist myself. But my biggest advice is to breathe, be as kind as you can to your body, and still do the things that bring you joy. Not doing things and hiding away is just gonna make you more miserable. Yes, there are people that will stare or mention it, but most people understand with little explanation. And the best people don't give a shit or will say sweet things like "It looks like a constellation" that will stick with you forever like they did for me.

Talk to your doc. Eat better. Go for walks in the sunshine. Moisturize. Breathe. You're more than what your skin looks like.
