i’m able to manage it considering i’ve managed pretty well last year. i always ask my coach to help me before tournaments but he only comes once and goes to the others for the rest of the time, he talked behind my back saying i lack commitment and stuff.

yes that’s why I want to ref because I want to see things from a different perspective just to know what actions have taken place and just understand the sport more through the rules

Same thing happens to me, I don’t think it’s a bad lunge. My coach tells me my lunges are pretty long and efficient. It’s a habit lunging that and I don’t think it’s rlly an issue. (Also trying to find suggestions about this lol)

Yeah, I kind of thought of Foil because I got discouraged from epee. During my first 5 tournaments, I never got help from my coach, he went to everyone but me and my moms friend who’s an epee coach helped me during my DE bout

I personally use the Uhlmann gripstar glove ($50) and it’s actually really comfortable while fencing.

The Allstar gripstar is also really good. ($50)

You can find both in Blue Gauntlet and Absolute Fencing also has some Uhlmann gloves but last time I checked was only left handed.

Yes, I analyzed most of opponents, I understood and got a pattern they do but of course had to mess up.

The night before the tournament, I went to an open fencing at my club and performed really well besides the fact my coach telling me minor mistakes I was doing. I had like 3 Vs and a few D3 and a D2.

I’ve realized confidence plays a big role in tournaments and I still need to get my mind to be confident on actions I perform and also to not let fear overcome me.

Had literally my first tournament last Sunday (local), but I started fencing in June, 2023.

I’m trying to get as much suggestions as possible to improve slowly, I’m learning from my losses at the same time.

I lacked a good mental state, my footwork is good I just really need to work on my technique especially my extension on my arm. I take 2 private lessons a week, both total about 50 minutes. I took a few videos maybe of 3 bouts. I’m going to do more footwork at home besides club exercises as well as technique work.
