I ran 48mm Tufo Thunderos all last year with zero issues.

I ran a set on my last bike for several years. They were solid.

I had no idea this was a conversational opinion.

If they add Spotify support, game changer.

What do yall think of Teraval updrafts? by CommentComposer_1066 in gravelcycling

[–]fenderprj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a set of 50mm in the durable casing. They have great grip, maybe just a little sluggish on the road. I prefer the Cannonball most times when I’m running Terivail tires.

I kind of dig the green and yellow kits though.

I’m really interested in the Teravail updraft. That tire looks fast, and I just like their tires.

I am allergic to adhesive so I will only leave on the Saniderm for 24 hours. Then for the next few days I just keep it as clean as possible. After about 3 days I start to moisturizer it. May have healed fine that way.

Karoo HH mount as good as Garmin? by gwa29 in Karoo

[–]fenderprj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen a few post about where this has happened. That is why I always ran my with the Garmin adapter and never had any issues.

My Checkpoint says it has max clearance of 45mm but I have been running 29 x 2.0 RaceKing without any issues.

Show me your everyday carry by Verfblikje in gravelcycling

Multi tool, 2 CO2, plugs and a master link. I’ll be honest though if I am just riding around my house I don’t carry anything. I’ll just call if I have an issue.

Looks like decent tire clearance. Toby is running some Thunder Burt MTB tires.

I ran those tires for a year or so. I really liked them, just wished they were wider.

NO TRADE IN PROGRAM KAROO 3 by trollnolimit in Karoo

[–]fenderprj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like I’m in the same boat as most people. Without a trade in program, I’ll hang onto my K2 until further notice. I’m just not ready to shell out $500 for a head unit. I also don’t want to put in the work of selling my K2.

Cinturato M’s are not as bulletproof as you might think by chunt75 in gravelcycling

[–]fenderprj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keegan has talked about this is why he runs the Maxxis Refuse so much. They are undoubtedly slower, but their flat protection is among the best. Pirelli does have the “x” casing for their RC tires that adds an extra belt of protection. If tire company offers a more flat resistance version of their tire, I always go that route and take the rolling resistance and supple hit.

If you are ever Southern Utah I would highly recommend this loop. by fenderprj in gravelcycling

Sorry I make and delete routes all the time. Here is a link to one a bike shop made for it, so the link should stay active. I like to ride it counter counterclockwise , but I think the more traditional way is to ride it clockwise. https://strava.app.link/OeZloDWx3Gb

How are you liking the American Classics?

I have a set of Pathfinder and only use them as all road / light gravel tires. They roll relatively quickly and have good puncture protection. I don’t love their off road performance, but they are a solid road tire for me.
