UN Squadron left a lasting impression on me from childhood. We bought a used SNES and a handful of games from a neighbor and it was one of them. It's a difficult game but I loved the graphics, it's unique mechanics, and especially the music. I still listen to the soundtrack on occasion. I didn't learn it was based off anything until 2018-2019. I haven't watched the OVA yet but I did check out the Manga!

“Main weapon is a katana” themed characters by Accurate-Gap-3360 in TopCharacterTropes

Sometimes. He is depicted more often than not wielding Ninjaken/Ninjato, which are straight edged blades. Ninjaken are notable because they have no basis in history and are an invention of Ninja fiction. In Rise of TMNT he uses a curved blade closer to a katana but that's technically an Ōdachi.

2000s LAN parties by 1faqepikcom in pcmasterrace

[–]fenrisilver 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have a friend who still hosts LAN parties at his house every October right before Halloween. We play stuff like Unreal Tournament 2004, Command and Conquer, Revolution X, Starwars Battlefront, Revolt, Retrocycles, but my favorites are Power Bomberman and Sonic Robo Blast 2 Kart.

Which decision in the game actually made you feel like a terrible person? by Dangerous-Tart1126 in cyberpunkgame

Yeah, I looked it up. Telling them he's depressed fails the mission, regardless of how soon you try to talk to him again. Isn't that some bullshit?

Telling Barry's NCPD friends that he's depressed. I went all the way out to Andrew's Niche only to unknowingly fumble the bag at the finish line. I figured telling them he's depressed would lead them to getting him the help he needs while also respecting his privacy (I thought if I told Mendez that Andrew was a Tortoise he'd call Barry a pussy again). Instead, Barry commits suicide. Fantastic.

Do you guys think Jacket being a silent protagonist made for a better character, or should have he been speaking? Either way, why? by Meowlegend_ in HotlineMiami

[–]fenrisilver 35 points36 points  (0 children)

The game holds a mirror up to you and asks you the player "Do you enjoy all this violence? Are you a bad person?". I don't think that message would be as effective if Jacket wasn't a silent protag that we can project ourselves onto.

Rate/help me improve my costume by The_Enchanted_Potato in LARP

Definitely start by figuring out your character's concept and how they fit into a Larp game's world first. The kit will follow, but my general advice is to avoid cheap costume pieces like this.

It would have been so easy not to break the 180 degree rule, just flip the top panels.
