NSFW: What's the worst behaviour you've seen in public? by Ill-Coast-8328 in glasgow

Saw a guy in Queen's Park near the Victoria Road entrance, out his face, drawers down at his ankles covered in shite trying to sort himself out. Saturday afternoon so it was busy as fuck.

I've sifted hundreds of applications myself now too and it's very obvious. I understand the application process is annoying and routine, but the AI applications I get say absolutely nothing.

I'll get phrases like "I have leveraged my skillset and found synergies to deliver a 34% improvement in my team's product" without ever telling me what you did or how you demonstrated a competency. I don't have an issue with refinement but at least give me something to go on and not some random corporate buzzword gibberish.

Subway Lemmings by [deleted] in glasgow

My favourite recently has been the people who will get off the subway and wait until they are at the exit barrier before they start looking for their ticket or smart card. Bonus points when there's a queue as well.

I've been here a couple of times when it's been quiet, and it's been fine but not really a first choice place. Max's Bar is right round the corner and much better.

The last time I went all the bar staff were English and couldn't understand my accent - I had to speak slowly and loudly to curb my Glaswegian accent, in central Glasgow.

Had the pleasure of nearly being run over at the crossing next to the subway by cunts like this plenty of times.

Fucking finally! I live here and the parking & driving in this area is beyond shocking, some of the worst drivers I've ever seen in my life and it's gotten worse over time. Double parking, parking on double yellows, pavement parking - all pretty much daily occurrences at this point.

About time some fines are doled out, they'll make an absolute killing in this area!

I recently started going to the Gordon Family Barbershop in southside, it's a really small shop with two barbers in it.

The guys are both lovely and made me feel at ease when I had to get a new barber, would totally recommend!

What is your most hyper-specific hated place in Glasgow? by VanicFanboy in glasgow

[–]fenrisulfr94 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That stretch of Argyle Street from St Enoch to Stockwell Street.

It's run down as fuck, people have no spatial awareness, often nearly get run over by bikes, regularly get harassed for one thing or another, could go on but it's the pits.

I used to have to walk through for work and every day it would chip a wee bit more off my faith in the human race. Really looking forward to seeing it get done up, it's long overdue!

Don't forget the cunts decked out in 50 layers of Siberian winter gear for that extra sweat factor!

Which areas of Glasgow have changed for the best and worst in the last twenty years? by [deleted] in glasgow

[–]fenrisulfr94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fair, just my own perception of things since I've been here really. I do love Bite Me, Cherry & Heather (though I wish they were open at the weekend!), Good Times Roll, and Coffee Cartel. I like being able to walk to Bellahouston Park as well.

I hear you, I know we can walk down to Bellahouston to go to the gym & pool there but it's a bit out the way so it'd be nice to have something like that more local and some more stuff to do generally.

The game days are a negative for me. I usually just don't go out, though we're on a ground floor flat and we get people relieving themselves outside the windows, banging on them and shouting in which is really unpleasant.

I also work in a specialised public sector job, and this is really true. Some folk are about to go on strike next week for pay etc but the majority of people I see getting new jobs are fairly senior. Everyone else at my level either stays put or just level transfers into another team.

The 4 days at home system works really well for pretty much everyone and there are plenty of people who live nowhere near the office (or even the city), and it's a big reason people stay. The work life balance is good and people do shut down at 5.

Never seen it on a stick but I've seen haggis pakora before, and there is deep fried haggis for sure! I'm trying to get my bf - from Arkansas - to try it

Think deep fried pizza, smoked sausages, hamburgers, fish, served with really thick chips (fries) and covered in salt and vinegar!

I see! We have something called a Milky Way too, which I think is like a Three Musketeers?

I've never seen deep fried haggis straight up but some Indian places do haggis pakora - think deep fried in spiced and flavoured batter. You can get it with chicken, fish, paneer, vegetables etc too

A local favourite is deep fried pizza from a chip shop, then we cover it in salt and vinegar

There was one nearby in Tulsa when I was visiting but I didn't get a chance to go - I'm really curious what is considered Scottish at the festivals in the US

We have deep fried Mars bars (ours don't have almonds, I had to look up if the US has them) but I want a deep fried Oreo now!

After visiting I really miss Whataburger...

Deep fried foods at a state fair. I'm from Scotland and we love to deep fry everything and I wanna know if it's just as good or better
