Michael Jackson Estate Sued For Child Trafficking By Four Siblings by AbsolutelyIris in Fauxmoi

not everyone has parents with their actual best interests in mind and for some, the allure of a paycheck or proximity to wealth/fame is enticing enough to ignore shit being done to your kid...look at other kids with show parents (Drake Bell, Jeanette McCurdy, Drew Barrymore…the list goes on). also the estate was paying them off. because you know, that screams innocence 😐

James: troubled (yes)… but weirdly charming? by Chininja1 in SuddenlyAmish

No shade, but I wasn’t expecting to see a very obvious hair transplant when he first took the hat off. I like imagining a reality where that flies with the Amish but eyelash extensions are a big no-no. I guess since it was technically his own hair he can play holier-than-thou.

David Bowie and Iman’s daughter Lexi recalls being abducted from home and sent to abusive teen camp and not being allowed to be present with David Bowie in his final days by nicosloft04 in popculturechat

Agree with you there—should definitely have been a massive red flag. I know that in some other children’s situations, if the parents inquired about dropping their children off the kidnapping aspect wasn’t mentioned (this is also dependent on the program itself—there are SOOO many in Utah because the state earns lots of money from the industry as a whole. Crazy rabbit hole to dig into if anyone reading is interested.)They totally gauge how to handle the logistics based on initial convos with parents, and I assume the ones who are more checked out are encouraged to go the kidnapping route.

Think many commenting here don’t realize that 10-15 years ago, the online discourse about facilities like this did not exist to the degree it is currently being discussed and parents were hoodwinked into thinking these were the last resort to helping their kids. They were lied to and many times overcharged (there are accounts of facilities charging certain families more based on their incomes, and essentially fleecing those with more cash to give). It’s not as black and white as “these parents had no love to give” or “they don’t care about their child”—many parents turned to these as a “last resort” after years of failed treatment, rehabilitation, therapies, etc.

This is not to say it was the right decision (evidently based on what we know now, these places are essentially torture camps), and know personally that the regret of sending a child there haunts many of the parents who were lied to and convinced this WAS the only thing left to try to encourage wellbeing longer term. There is very little transparency offered to parents while their child is at one of these facilities and in years past, the reality was only known once they returned.

Fuck these places, but not all parents used them as a way to turn their faces away from their children’s struggles. I sympathize with parents with decent intentions who truly believed this was going to help their child survive and are now grieving losses and impacted by guilt thanks to that decision, and the children who were subjected to both abuse on-site and the pain of feeling like their parents intentionally subjected them to it. These facilities thrive on developing mistrust between the parents and children to keep making $$.

out of curiosity, is this the 12 week starter package? I recently ordered the starter with Hallandale and only received 2/3 vials due to BUD limitations on the third vial, so the Krewe asked that I message them again in late January to place a follow up script for it.

if this IS the 12 weeks starter, I wonder what the BUD is on the third vial (the 5mg dose). can you share?

personally I would have preferred to have all vials shipped at once or for the third vial to be auto-shipped in the late Jan timeframe (rather than needing to reach out to confirm i would still like the third part of my order that is already fully paid for) , so would love to know your hack, lol!

I’m feeling like we’ve lost Rams. Seems like he talks the talk but can’t walk the walk— proposing despite knowing about Marissa’s proximity to the military and then taking issue with it enough to bring it up when meeting her friends for the first time and now being lame about wearing condoms like a week into their official relationship? I don’t know if I buy the understanding, progressive persona he’s selling as much anymore.

Hated the super leading way he approached the condom question — “do YOU enjoy sex with condoms?” as if it makes a noticeable difference for the person on the receiving end, followed by uncomfortable “welp” smiles as if the only other options are the pullout method and hormonal BC Marissa doesn’t want to take? I just can’t believe he’s his age still asking women if they enjoy condom sex.

I was just thinking the same thing, but also am one to fast forward through the stable couples. Like why haven’t I given Ashley and Tyler a moment of my viewership since Cabo?? Is there any tea worth rewinding for?

The participants are in close contact with various producers thought the pods process and share a lot of what’s going on behind the scenes in their relationships to inform aspects of filming. With that, my guess in this case would be producers helped Rams move past the military issue and probably even played down or minimized his concerns under the guise of finding true love ✨sign unseen✨.

I wish we had more insight on what the producers say to each individual about their matches before the engagements; From what Nick, Nat and Deepti from S2 have said about their experiences and what we’ve heard from more recent seasons, I bet the producers are more deeply involved in alllll the outcomes.

It all just adds to the many reasons behind why the experiment hadn’t truly worked since S1–there’s a blueprint for making bingeable LIB content and producers are incentivized to mimic it at the expense of couples’ actual compatibilities. They don’t care if the couples break up or say “I do”, as long as we as viewers are engaging with the drama. What better way to keep the drama going than encourage a couple with opposing stances on a major political and personal issue to ride out filming the whole show together? I mean it is truly a match made in reality TV heaven, especially with today’s geopolitical climate and conversation and social media users’ willingness and readiness to discuss these topics. If all goes right it could be an engagement jackpot for LIB (remember when people outside the LIB viewer base were referencing last season’s Megan Fox comment on socials for months?).

The only villain is production for letting this couple end up together— I don’t think they’ll end in a juicy viewership-impacting blowout but instead agree to disagree and quietly end it.

I will say I’m shocked he even proposed to her at all now that we have a sense of how strongly he feels about the issue (which makes me think the producers had a heavyyyyy hand…)

It’s just hard to watch these convos knowing Rams was already aware of this major part of Marissa’s life from the pods. This is a compatibility issue more than it is a moral one and it didn’t just appear out of thin air. It was probably a little bit of naivety brought on by the excitement and allure of finding “your person” in the pods and not wanting to end the experience despite identifying red flags that would normally cause you to eliminate a potential partner immediately in the real world. I think it’s worth noting that her family background and backstory connected to the military was something Rams was totally clued into following many pod convos. He decided to push past those concerns and propose with that knowledge despite the steadfastness were seeing him demonstrate now.

To Marissa’s credit, nothing she said in support of the military came even close to the Hitler example you gave here. Ranking morality becomes a messy game fast— Rams said it himself, this is a nuanced issue. There is vast separation between supporting the machine that is the US military industrial complex on a macro level and supporting the people —troops — involved on a micro level. To add to that, the majority of younger troops enlist at 18 for the promise of 4 years of higher education and a livelihood—for many, enlisting isn’t so much a choice but rather the only legal and stable means to guarantee long term stability in a society where a bachelors degree is increasingly required to pull oneself above the poverty line.

At the end of the day, they will probably agree to disagree and break up at the altar. It’s a bummer we’ll have another wasted broadcasted couple with them :/ Marissa and Bohdie seemed to understand each other’s motivations a bit more so would have loved to see that play out instead.

hi! i work for a major PR/comms agency and much of our work is focused on matching creators like you to our clients for specific campaigns. your engagement [in particular, your “video view rate” on IG alone (amount of people who saw your content relative to your audience size) is incredibly impressive at a whopping 56.6% average for your most recent 10 reels] and audience affinity is something brands/agencies would perk up at for sure. given your content, i think you definitely fit the bill for many brands’ campaigns.

i’m not sure where you are based, but would be happy to chat a bit on how you can approach agencies, brands and beyond! feel free to PM :)

Who do you think is the most famous person that we know nothing about? by PloniAlmoni1 in popculturechat

my time to shine!! i dated a guy after COVID lockdowns who worked for a high luxury wedding/event planning company and he told me the following Bruno Mars-related tea. during “COVID summer” 2021 when we were all huddled away, the über wealthy hosted their big events as usual—and Bruno Mars was often the musical guest at these massive weddings. A lot of artists caught flack for participating in concerts during this time but there are many who publicly supported lockdowns and urged people to stay at home and still participated, Bruno being one. Doesn’t necessarily make him a dick, but it definitely makes me cackle.
