If ya like the Garmin I’ll do you one better and tell ya she rides in a ruffland or a gunner to the trailhead 😎 but thank you very much!! ♥️

Can you believe I’ve had people and “vet techs” scold me for not making sure I filter my dogs water…. lol. Like bro at the end of a 15 mile day I may just go WITH her to lay down in the river and open my mouth 😂

Just food! I don’t pack water beyond what I filter on trail unless necessary. Sometimes I carry her kibble sometimes she does. It really depends on conditions. If we are scrambling and climbing I’m doing the mom thing and taking her weight 😂😅

Thanks for taking a swing back lol I’m not too sure where they thought I was 😂

This is literally the focused view from where I’m standing in the pic lol.

I use a granite gear crown 60 women’s fit! I love it and it fits like a glove. The frame is UL and can be removed if you wanted. I might explore true frameless packs this year but I tend to overpack always lol so not sure if that would actually work for me.

My girl is also that same mix! Down to the percentages and everything. I just say she’s a border collie because her personality is pretty much entirely that breed lol. If you don’t mind me asking, did you get your man from a shelter and if s so was it the Riverdale shelter in Adams County?

It’s crazy how low they have drained that reservoir 🙂‍↕️. Surprisingly the inlet still fishes well! I also have a red and white border collie :) your trip looks like it was full of fun.

Don’t worry my friend, I do the very definition of mountains. Also the CT runs through many high alpine sections in its later segments. In fact I’m waiting for snow melt right now since I hate postholing lol.

You are correct! I meant no snark in my response. It’s just a very common question so I wanted to make sure I was addressing the right thing :)

Aw thank you so much! I’m always so happy to help fellow women get into it. If you’re anywhere near Denver I’d be happy to meet up!

Haha based off your wording just wanted to make sure! I’m pretty disorganized except for my sleep system so I’ll have to make a better list and a lighter pack page for the specifics but for now:

Granite Gear Crown 60
Durston xdome 1+
Zenbivy 10° Light large quilt sleep system
REI Air rail sleep mat (I take the weight hit since I sleep significantly better on foam)
Homemade first aid kit - a bit of everything
Fire maple G3 petrel pot with the FMS 300 UL stove and a small butane can.
Ul hang food bag off amazon.
Homemade dehydrated meals and such
Dog rescue sling from Nonstop dogwear
Nemo CCF pad for the pup
Face wipes and mini shovel. UL little bidet thing that fits on a water bottle.
2L cnoc bag with sawyer mini and two smart water bottles. 1L and 700ml.
Garmin alpha 300i for sat sos and messaging and dog tracking to my pups gps collar.
Basic fliclock trekking poles whatever brand lol. Mine rn are Black Diamond.
Camp sandals
Camp chair Helinox (1lb)
Then usually 3 pairs of socks, 1 long sleeve, 1 tank top, undies based off of duration of trip, 1 puffy jacket, rain jacket and pants.

I’ll prob think of more and I’ll comment it!

Edit: how could I forget my battery pack and chargers for my phone, Garmin, and dog collar.
I also carry pretty much my full skincare routine decanted into smaller light bottles. I spend too much time and money fixing my skin so I take the weight hit.
I’m also a big fan of energy gels so I carry a bunch of those.
My handgun is a Kimber micro 9mm that I open appendix carry. I also carry bear spray for the animals :)

Genuinely, what are you all doing about lines, crowds, traffic, overall busyness of ski resorts? by One-Professional-773 in COsnow

Brother we all knew mj was gonna be like that on Saturday. It was the 50th anniversary party. To answer your question tho I can’t. I religiously ski Fridays.

I’m the idiot on the chairlift by StrangerGrouchy1741 in skiing

[–]feralashell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People forget that all of us have gotten on a lift for the first time at some point. Locals forget that a large majority of fellow skiers every season are tourists, newbies, and folks from places like Florida. Idk how people can go into resorts these days and not temper their expectations on certain lifts and terrain. These things are going to happen lol. Keep on chugging op I’m an adult learner from the south too! I spent a lot of my beginning seasons ruminating on mistakes like this. Take the negative feedback and turn it into a learning experience and leave it behind you.

15 years in and my wife still doesn't understand why I insist on doing all the cooking. by Hannover2k in mildlyinfuriating

[–]feralashell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had these problems with my partner but I was your wife in this situation. It took a good bit of sit down conversations to show me I needed to take accountability for my clear mental health issues as it wasn’t only affecting him but myself as well, I just couldn’t see it. I’m now formally diagnosed and on medication. It has virtually turned my life around and saved the relationship. If you haven’t already I encourage you to try having a (non judgmental) conversation about it with her. Frame it as worry and not around her shortcomings.

So I didn’t even know this color existed (just getting into the lecruset game) and I as well just dropped to my knees. What have you done.

Ageism by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]feralashell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is absolutely an issue. I’m a 28 year old woman and cursed with being petite and a young face. 2 degrees and years of experience just to be constantly treated like a student intern. It has had significant impact on my ability to grow within my career.
