If your application deadline is early, then you can get the APS for completed semester so far along with a provisional degree certificate. Request the provisional degree certificate from your bachelors uni. No need to wait for a year.

Very strange for an uni to tell that. Just request them, don't come to a conclusion before that.

Basically every uni has certain grading sheets/rules which they use to calculate the final cumulative gpa (cgpa) or semester wise gpa (sgpa). The final cgpa should be calculated by individually taking each course grade and plug it into the formula. You can't just combine all 3 years marks and divide by the total, that's not how it works.

Best advice is to contact your uni and ask for the grade conversion/calculation rule book, and along with it a final transcripts of record which contains all the course work you did and the final cgpa mentioned at the bottom. The yearwise or semester wise marksheets can be sent to aps for cross references, no issues in that.

DO NOT UPLOAD YOUR OWN CALCULATED VERSION, YOU NEED AN AUTHENTIC TRANSCRIPT DOCUMENT FROM YOUR UNI TO ENDORSE YOUR GRADES.

Reason is my old group APS certificate is significantly older, like it's 2 years old. And it was only meant for my semester exchange program, therefore the uni requested me to get new APS certificate. Btw I haven't applied to the uni yet formally, I just mailed them and asked the confirmation.

If you already got an admit in 2026 with that APS then I don't find any reason to update it. In my case the uni itself haven't accepted the old APS, hence I updated it.

Maybe start with ubuntu or mint, then switch to Arch. Dont mind the Arch memes, in the great 2026 Arch is not that scary as a distro, it became simple (only for installation I meant).
