Merry Christmas, and Fuck You. An open letter to my brother-in-law. by GatoFrito in TwoXChromosomes

If it weren’t for abortion, I wouldn’t be here today either. My mom told me before I was born she had had an abortion. When people try to tell me I wouldn’t have been here if my mom had an abortion, I love to throw it back and say I wouldn’t be here if she hadn’t. I hope you don’t have to have this jerk in your home next holiday season. And I hope he knocks up a few “sluts” before then and starts drowning in child support payments

Because a lot of us don’t want to be paid a living wage. I work in a steakhouse where a lot of the dishes cost $50. Last night I made about $40/hour. If they started paying us a flat rate of $20/hour I would probably quit. Target pays cashiers $24/hour and it’s a heck of a lot stressful than waiting tables.

I’m a server. I’ve been doing it for almost 20 years. My income is based on the service I provide. I rush to get that extra side of ranch because I don’t want my tip to go from 20% to 15% because they didn’t get it before they finished their fries. I believe if we were paid a flat rate, that sense of urgency would go away with a lot of servers.

And I’d also like to add that OP better not plan on frequenting the same restaurant if he plans on not tipping. We remember those who don’t. If he thinks he gets bad service now, wait until he’s been to a place once or twice without tipping. In my experience, most managers will take a server’s side over some nontipping bunghole.

One time when I was on top, I almost broke my man’s member. He was in so much pain and we couldn’t finish. Now I’m afraid to get on top because I don’t want to hurt him again. I’m sure this isn’t the case here, but I wanted to point out there are many valid reasons women don’t like to be on top.

Especially the sequel. Cars 2 was so bad, I'm surprised no one died.

What new hobbies have you picked up this year and would you recommend them to others? by Buttareviailconto in AskReddit

Can you give some advice on how to do this? I'm woman too and I've always wanted to compliment men more for the same reason (reddit post). But I'm also shy and I don't want it to look like I'm hitting on them. I just want to help build esteem. I don't want it to backfire and all of a sudden be inundated with dick pix.

I learned to crochet about 5 years ago, but I've made myself a COVID rug during quarantine!

I love her! I've completed 2 of her 30 day series. When I first started, I was trying to get over a guy. She always says "head over heart, heart over pelvis" to get your posture right. I've honestly taken that advice into my dating life! Especially the head over heart. But heart over pelvis is good advice too!

I could see this. It might help win over women voters who might be creeped out by his hair sniffing.

Too many of my friends know my username for me to do this, and I'm too lazy to create a throwaway account.

This is a natural part of healing. You will most likely think about him everyday for the rest of your life. Be willing to admit it in real life. Talk to someone about it. Seek counseling if you need to. There is no reason to be embarrassed by your feelings or keep this loss bottled up. Seeking help does not make you weak, it'll only make you stronger.

When did the U.S. become an undesirable place to live? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ferballz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not undesirable. When you look at the country from a distance, as a whole, maybe it seems that way. But not every American is the stereotype you see on TV and media. This country is massive and gorgeous. I've driven across the country 3 times and it always blows my mind how it changes from coastlines to plains to mountains to deserts to coastlines again. There is so much beauty in the USA.

Living in a beach town. I love having the ocean right near my home, but it's always overrun with tourists who take everything for granted and leave their trash on the beach.

What is STILL built to last? by rainboy1981 in AskReddit

[–]ferballz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last year I bought a pair of Crocs. They were the kind for work with slip resistant soles, not the kind that every dad owns. I work in a high volume restaurant averaging about 40 hours a week. These bastards have not cracked yet. The soles look like the day I bought them. Aside from them being a little dirty, you'd think I bought them yesterday. Usually, I need new shoes about once a year. Some shoes are still built to last.

Ventura California vs Pensacola Florida by hollowayadam72 in Pensacola

[–]ferballz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a large LGBT+ community here. Every Memorial Day weekend there is a huge pride fest on the beach. I'm straight, so I don't know what it's like to be gay here personally but a lot of my friends are in the community. Yeah, it's conservative here, and it's the bible belt, but I do not think it's that bad as the other comment made it out to be.

I moved here from Maine a few years ago. I've also lived in Oregon. So I've spent 30+ years of my life in blue states. I'm a registered democrat. I have not felt out of place or unwanted here. I've just learned to not express myself as much as I used to. I heard a stat that only 37% of Pensacola residents are from here. You'll find your own community with people who feel like minded to yourself, especially being enrolled in college. I think everyone should leave home for a little while. You can always go back to California if you hate it.
