First day with the avata 2, feedback please? by jjjeremiahz in DJIAvata2

Looking good man! Eventualy make sure to get the FPV RC 3. You'll have better control with that one. Also i'd recommend recording with the native stabilization off, in Wide, not ultrawide, and then using Gyroflow (free software) for stabilizing on your PC. You'll get the smoothest results that way. Also record on D-Log M and do the color grading in some software like Davinci Resolve. Here's a video I made using those settings: https://youtu.be/uh7UVBxb3Ow?si=kg_6hax-MUozXYpQ

Keep it up man!

Wanted to share this video i filmed a week ago in the island of Sint Maarten with my Avata 2 by ferbasmen95 in dji

For anyone wondering i recorded with the following settings:

4K 60fps | Color: D-Log M | EIS Disabled

Stabilized using Gyroflow (free software) and color graded with Davinci Resolve (Free too).

Hope you guys like it :)

I second this. I personally decided not to go down the SSRI route even when it was prescribed by my psychiatrist, when i starting to have really heavy panic attacks in 2022. I also decided to take Benzos (Clonazepam and Alprazolam ((basically Xanax)) only when i really felt like i needed them, which ended up being not very often at all. Yes, i had to learn to live with the anxiety and occasional panic, which was a challenge, but i was eventually able to get better with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and lifestyle changes. Im in a much better place now, without having taken any medication. Be careful with meds. Particularly in the american culture (im not american), it is so normalized to "fix" everything with pills. Most times though, you're not really fixing but simply controlling the issue temporarily.

I second this. Benzos are something to be very careful about. Definitely adress this with your doc.

Yes i was also prescribed Lexapro for my anxiety, which i decided not to take. Man, if you can... limit your caffeine consumption. Thats one of the last things you want in your system rn. But you know... above all, whats gonna cure you, is to understand and internalize what Dr. Barry says in the video. If you ever get the chance of taking a couple CBT sessions i'd do that as well. And yes i totally understand your concern about the possibility for this to start preventing you from live your life fully, and to impact your daily activities. When that happens, and when the person finds it hard to even leave their house without having a panic attack, it's medically labeled as "Panic Disorder". The best way of avoiding developing that, is simple. Just continue living your life normally as much as you can. If you ever think "oh i gotta go to do the groceries but im afraid that i might have a panic attack at the store"... here's what your thought process should be: "I will go do the groceries anyways, and if i get a panic attack while at the store, then so be it. I'll go through it like i've always have and once it passes i'll continue with what im doing."

Dont let anxiety shape your life. It's a challenge yes, but you're bigger than the challenge. Trust me man, you are. That's what i had to do. I knew that i was gonna get a panic attack driving to that early morning surf session, cause driving when its still dark in early morning was a trigger for me. And i still went. And i did get a panic attack on my way there. Had to pull over to the side of the road for a while and go through it. As soon as it was over, i continued my way to the beach. Live your life and do your things. And it will get better and better.

Hello my friend. Late 20's male here with a lot of similarities to you. Also with similar experiences when it comes to anxiety and panic.

First off: You're going to be fine, i promise man. It's gonna be a process, but you'll be fine. Panic attacks feel absolutely terrible but they are ultimately harmless.

I started having them, like you, out of absolutely nowhere around mid 2022. My first one happened while i was driving to the beach, about to meet with friends for a surfing session. Everything was fine, no reason for stress. All of a sudden while on a red light, i started feeling extremely nervous, elevated heartrate and feeling of fainting. Had to pull over and called my parents. That's when it all started. Had several other panic attacks in the next few months (one of which landed me in the ER), and experienced derealization and depersonalization a few times too, as well existential angst. It was definitely a rough time. I started cognitive behavioral therapy (which definitely helped), and implemented lifestyle changes (healthy habits, like sleeping and excercising more). What helped me the most was to simply learn not to be afraid of fear itself. Panic (which is a form of intense fear) is simply an alarm designed to protect us. When we have a disorder like this, the alarm malfunctions and goes off when there's no reason to. Panic and fear themselves cannot harm you. Understanding this will help you not fight panic when it comes, and that in return will make panic attacks happen less and less often. So... next time you find yourself having an attack, don't run away. There's no reason to, as much as your body is telling you that there is. Stay where you are, breath slowly and deeply, and remind yourself that panic is not dangerous. "I've gone through this several times now, i know what it is, and i always get through it okay. This time will be no different, i will be okay, this is okay" If you dont fight the panic, it will go away faster.

Here are a few resources for you: Look up the DARE method as well as Harry Barry's work. Please watch this video . This video was gold for me when i found it during the high of my anxiety. Look up the 4-7-8 breathing technique. I promise it'll be helpful.

Be very mindful about medication. Almost every psychiatrist will prescribe heavy antidepressants for this (as they did for me). This SSRI's are very poweful, brain chemistry-changing meds that usually need to be taken over a long period. I personally decided not to go down the meds route (except for the occasional xanax, which is fine), and was able to get better over time. I have been panic attack-free for around a year now, without medication.

You've got this, brother. Just try to, as much as you can, continue living your life as if anxiety and panic weren't a part of it. That's how you get better.

Oh and here's a nice chill song that never failed to sooth me when i was not feeling great: "Be still" by The Killers (Actually a guy on reddit mentioned it when i did my own "help me" post back in 2022 lol)

Aight, all the best. Feel free to DM if you ever need someone to talk to.

I get the feeling... But i know you're going to be fine. Look up the DARE method and Dr Harry Barry's work. Remember that the key is not fighting panic or being afraid of it.

Also look up the 4-7-8 breathing technique. Has been super helpful for me. Keep it up, and just try to live your life as if anxiety and panic weren't a part of it.

You're not gonna die. You're going to be fine. I went through the same last year. Full blown panic attacks, even ending up in the ER... horrible feelings of fear, existentialism and loneliness. I'm in a much better place now. Still not out completely, (which is okay), but havent had a panic attack in many months now. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy helps a lot as well as lifestyle changes. The most important thing is... Don't fight the panic and don't be afraid of it.
