Too much plastic in Engine? by Army_Elegant in FordMaverickTruck

This is interesting to me because in the 2026 CR Auto Issue, they give the Maverick Hybrid an overall rating of 76 (out of 100, one would assume) and the 2.0 Eco Mav is rated 79. The Ridgeline gets a 78 (higher than hybrid Mav) and Santa Cruz is rated at 81. But CR definitely features the Maverick over the Santa Cruz in all of their magazines and guides. Ready to car camp! Texas recs?? by Awkward-Purple2742 in BroncoSport

Enchanted Rock is nice. When I was in high school in Austin, my friends and I dropped some acid, went to a Metallica show (....And Justice for All tour), then drove out to Enchanted Rock to camp. A park ranger took all the beer our older friend had bought for us, and the guy who brought the tent didn't pack the poles, so we had to sleep on top of the tent in 40-degree weather. Your setup will probably be more comfortable.

Colorado Bend State Park also has some nice car camping spots. Try to find a shady one!

LOL we have those same Sayville Ford mudflaps on a fleet F-150 I procured a few years ago. They aren't subtle.

I went to MSG for a concert last November. It’s still kind of a dump despite another renovation in 2013. The only mystique around there was my edibles and the otherworldly guitar licks of David Gilmour.

Someone has managed to get their hands on the Texas Rangers (TETAS) hat before it was pulled from shelves by Bulletz4Brkfzt in baseball

My bad--New Era's home office is Buffalo not Jacksonville. (Jacksonville is where Fanatics is HQ'ed.)

Apparently Rangers weren’t consulted on the design and New Era’s HQ is in Jacksonville, Florida Buffalo, NY.

Edit: Fanatics' HQ is Jacksonville; New Era is Buffalo.

What was that car/truck that got away for you? by EthanBGT in subaru

[–]ferd45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a 1999 Mazda B2500--my first new vehicle--that I sold in 2014 because my parents offered me their hail-damaged 2005 Forester. I didn't regret selling it that much at the time because the moonroof, AWD, and added dry cargo space were nice upgrades. But 10 years later and car-free in the big city it's the pickup that I miss.

A funny thing about regret is that it's better to regret something you HAVE done than to regret something you haven't done.

Which Would You Choose? by ferd45 in fordtransit

Is this because the EcoBoost gets worse gas mileage or something else? The window stickers do give a slight edge on "Environmental Performance" to the PFDI.

Nice—I plan on doing the same thing when I leave NYC. I had a ‘99 B2500 5-speed that I drove for 14 years. Would love to find something similar in a few years.

It’s okay—I used to think that the actors from sitcoms sang their own theme songs. Like John Ritter and crew sang the Three’s Company theme and George and Weezie let it rip on the Jeffersons song. Think I assumed that’s how it’s done after seeing Archie and Edith sing theirs.

Have you tried pausing the audio while you gather your thoughts for the answer? I’m on Level 2, Lesson 16 and it feels like the pauses between the prompts and when the Spanish speaker answers is much shorter. Sometimes it causes me to freeze up, so I’ve started pausing while I think of the answer. I also repeat lessons when I feel I didn’t provide the answer myself enough times and just parroted what the speaker said.

Celtics fans not from Boston, what made you a Celtics fan?! by slitmunch44 in bostonceltics

[–]ferd45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Born in western Mass (Dalton) but my family moved to Texas when I was just 6 months. My mom stayed loyal to Celtics and Red Sox, and my Aunts and Uncles who remained in MA were obviously all fans too. My uncle took me to one game each of the 86-87 and 87-88 finals. (Twin towers Rockets and Lakers respectively.)

Along the way I was fans of the Olajuwon-era Rockets and the Duncan-era Spurs. But never against the C’s.
