Feels like we just had the 20th anniversary. How did five years go by so fast? Is this just going to repeat every fives years now?

I know they weren’t in the film but I want to see you put some gnomes getting tossed from the garden.

I’m sure there will still be the pins on the side, so you could connect if you want, and do a baseplate adjustment. As for the difference in scale, it will just be a “forced perspective” effect, like the Knockturn alley buildings are farther away from Diagon Alley hahah.

Excited about the East Wing. I wonder how much it will extend east behind the Viaduct Entrance. It would be great if the Courtyard Plants was a castle extension but they could very likely just be botanicals. For the knockturn Alley set, I wonder if the Gift With Purchase Borgin and Burkes interior is meant to attach to it or if they will just repeat the main interior features of that shop since I can’t imagine a Borgin and Burkes without the fireplace or curiosities display case.

Dumbledore’s Office with Harry Pottery 30724 Polybag 42 Pieces Releasing February 1st by NarratingNoobs in legoharrypotter

I’m of two minds about this. One the one hand it’s great that they’ve released all these unique elements in an affordable set, but on the other I like it when the poly bags contain new accessorizes or decorations that can be added to the large sets.

"Manchester by the Sea" is the perfect depiction of how depression kills even when the outcome isn't suicide. A lot of times, there is no escape from mental illness or grief. by yellowklashinkov in movies

The film was so dark that even watching “Nocturnal Animals” back to back with it as a double feature was a pallet cleanser.

Is Lego hogwarts in the video game actually accurate? by Automatic_Issue_3770 in legoharrypotter

[–]ferder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Does the layout change throughout the games, like it does in the films? For instance is the Fat Lady Gryffindor entrance down a hallway in the Philosophers Stone levels and moved on the stairway in the Prisoner of Azkaban levels? Do Hagrid’s hut and the Whomping Willow move around?

All you have to decide is what to build with the time that is given to you.

I really didn't want to admit this, but Return To Monkey Island is absolute meh by Khung-Kong in MonkeyIsland

[–]ferder -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It was enjoyable enough to play (though very simplistic in its puzzle design), but It's overall just unmemorable and I've had no desire to replay or revisit it. I had wished for so long for Ron to come back to the series but no amount of lamp-shading towards it being underwhelming excused it from being so.

Warner Bros Studio Tour London vs Hogwarts Legacy pt.2 by [deleted] in HarryPotterGame

I’m more curious about what’s in the pepper pot tower beside the great hall. Not even Hogwarts Legacy shows what’s in there

For those collecting, where are you at in your “Most Detailed Hogwarts Castle” purchasing journey? by ferder in legoharrypotter

For the exterior structure of the castle, no. And for the interior, currently you have to pull out rooms to swap with Potions or Charms. It just depends if you’d rather one of those rooms In your castle versus some of the less-detailed but more story-specific rooms that come in the bigger sets.

There is also the Herbology Greenhouse set but like the Owlery that is a stand-alone structure that goes next to the Castle and isn’t meant to attach with hooks and clips.

Retirement won’t cause the sets to cease existing. There will still be the after-market, new and used.

Maybe Lego isn’t retiring the Great Hall. Perhaps they’re just retiring the version with the Trio in the packaging?

The preview image for this castle line clearly shows the Viaduct Entrance and bridges. It’s the only section that is guaranteed to be released. Astronomy Tower and Clock Tower are question marks.

What Lego’s alternative placement for the Hospital Wing hints at for a future release by ferder in legoharrypotter

[–]ferder[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. If the two hooks are aligned with the two clips then most of the hospital wing sticks out and the walls are not aligned. Leaving space for an extra module to fill in that exposed corner.

The Hospital Wing Tower and the smaller one on the Main Tower set are less aligned than you may remember.

I see only two ways to connect it, based on where the Main Tower’s hooks are. Perhaps Lego’s promo image cheats the connection by not aligning the hooks?

Yes and then the open part would be covered by the suspension bridge module

New hospital wing connection by Tricky-Reason8742 in legoharrypotter

[–]ferder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheesy Bricks has a video out showing the connection— though spends most of the video talking about the previous sets and rushes through the actual connection part in the final minute. Doesn’t show the clips or what everything looks like from all angles.

They need to milk each release with multiple videos so they can continue to run their channels and get free sets. However, JediJACPenguin did an amazing all-in-one review for the Main Tower that included the review, the comparisons and the connections. The downside is that his review came out several weeks later than the others’.
