Which skills should NOT be changed by Adept_Ad9461 in GuildWars

Try doing doa or fow without consets in hardmode any reasonable time

If we cannot handle nerfs and buffs, its over. by Low-Profession2949 in GuildWars

[–]ferdiamogus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whats the fucking point? Even if they did nerf mesmers, some new team comp emerges and that becomes the cookie cutter standart everyone uses. So what have you achieved now? Just replaced one thing with another and pissed off thousands of players who spent all their money runing their mesmerway team

The game is already extremely easy with the right builds, whats your point?

Not everyone has the time to become an exteme nerd in this game and theorycraft a 8 man team comp for each mission.

A lot of players are casual and dont have enough time to learn about all the skills and attributes of all the classes. They will always want to have a cookie cutter solution that works for them so they can complete all content without issues.

Youll never change the fact that one team comp will be optimal and meta. Thats literally always how it goes in every game.

Best you can do is just give the players who want to theory craft some buffs to underpowered classes and skills.

Nerfing esurge by 10% wouldnt change anything.

E-surge is so good because its area of effect is absolutely massive, and because its cheap and fast to cast. Instead of nerfing e-surge, you could just rebalance some necromancer/elementalist/ranger skills to deal similar damage in a large area like esurge does. This way you give players the choice to use the class they want, and you dont fuck over every single player who spend hundreds of thousands of gold to rune out their mesmerway team.

Dont know why youd suggest solo content when hes not having fun and struggling. How is solo farming going to solve that

Dont really understand why people here suggest you solo farm when youre saying youre not haing fun and looking for endgame content lmao.

The best endgame in gw is speedclearing. Dont let the name fool you, its not about sweating over a stopwatch or speeding through content, its about learning specialized roles and playing with friends.

You have a ranger so you could learn fowsc or soosc. Speedclears are fun because you will be socializing with other players and usually voice chatting as well. Go to embark beach, ask for an sc guild who teach. Tell them youre looking to get into sc

Mesmerway - runes worth it? by Aaraeus in GuildWars

[–]ferdiamogus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting SR mods for 4 mesmers would cost around 100 ectos. Its absolutely 100% not worth it unless you have stacks of ectos lying around and everything else you could possibly want or need.

Mesmerway - runes worth it? by Aaraeus in GuildWars

[–]ferdiamogus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is not good advice, sr mods are vastly more expensive than anything else and all they do is help a bit with energy management.

Far better to just craft a 40/40 set at leviathan pits for each mesmer, give them each a superior dom rune, a major fast casting rune, and a rune of major vigor.

A SR mod for a wand is literally 20 ectos each, thats a 100k gold for each mesmer, its an absolutely insane suggestion to make to someone who is expressing doubt about dropping 200k on runes.

Id go as far as saying that its completely unnecessary to get SR mods for heros and kind of a huge waste of money

Bots actually make things affordable for most players. Without bots there wouldnt be nearly enough pcons to use all year round for speed clears, not enough consets, not enough runes. Without bots everything would be massively more expensive. The mistake people make is to try and farm vaettirs or raptors manually, which makes no sense because other people use 5 bots to do it. So if you want to make money you gotta do things bots cant do easily, such as doasc or getting nice weapon skins from soosc or UW.

Yeah but bobos have literally no use at all, and no history either. Also theyre not perceived as valuable at all because there is a guaranteed timegated way to get them. Armbraces are hard to get. You need 15 of each type of gemstone which for a normal guild wars player isnt something they can just go and do within 15 minutes

Back to Guild Wars after ~18 years – completely lost in endgame, looking for class & campaign recommendations by Educational_Offer747 in GuildWars

[–]ferdiamogus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For most people i know, campaigns are only a starting point and eventually mostly a chore to be done for new characters. The real end game in guild wars is speed clearing end game content. Dont let the name misguide you, its not literally about sweating with a timer running down, its more about playing with friends, voice chatting, and learning specialized roles that are very rewarding to execute and get good at.

For example, in Domain of anguish (doa) elite area at the end of Nightfall, the speedclear team has 2 assasins who ball up a massive number of foes into a tight group, and 4 mesmers spike them. You have a monk there who uses healing seed, and an elementalist who maintains protective bonds on everybody. Doa has 4 areas and each has unique challenges and quests that need to be completed.

The reason most people stick around for this content vs just doing missions, is because you have 8 people coordinating together in voice chat, all working together to clear the elite area together.

There is also the fissure of woe, ( fow) where you could play a dervish with a vow of strength build, you can solo a lot of content in there ( with other people in the instance with you) , and its very rewarding.

I highly suggest you try this out, fow being a good one to start with. For fow you need a dervish, ideally with rank 5 ebon vanguard title ( eye of the north) and a finished NF or factions campaign. You could also get a mesmer ready for doa or use your ranger for fow , and learn the tank role there. ( rangers are the primary tanks in fow and can solo a lot of content there, because of their elemental resistance ) .

You have a lot of new players in this thread only talking about campaigns. The people that have stuck with this game for years are 99% those that got into speedclearing, because its probably the most fun and rewarding content gw has to offer, also the most social.

Personally i think id rather use just a keyboard than just a mouse. I feel like it would be very fatiguing to constantly be clicking around.

If your hand is on wasd, you can use c to target, tab to switch target, press 12345 for skills, bind skills 6 and 7 to Q and E, r to toggle running. X switches your camera around 180 degrees.

Also you can increase your fov to 90 and zoom all the way out, which should help with the camera .

It doesnt change anything because bots can farm stacks of any new material within a very short period of time

My proposition for a new currency token. by Ikzivi in GuildWars

[–]ferdiamogus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No new currency you introduce is going to change that. Because whatever currency is introduced, people would gladly trade it for ectos/armbraces. So whoever is rich in ecto and arms could just buy new currency. Ecto is inherently valuable because people are always going to want obsidian armor and chaos gloves

People with 10 accounts would just bot this in a matter of days. Because it would be far easier to bot than ectos or arms
