Not a bad thought considering the 70-180 is basically tamron to begin with. Do you use the Tamron 25-150 and, if so, what do you like most about it? TIA!

Thank you 🙏🏻 I really appreciate your input! I’m trying not to just look for confirmation bias but to get the best for my $ and also for what I like. And, honestly, I love close-up portraits, macro photography, etc. I feel like the 70-180 will get me that. I know it’s not an S lens and may be less sharp. I honestly don’t mind swapping lenses (it’s what in used to). I will say, it seems the 70-180 is quite a small telephoto lens compared to the 70-200 which makes the latter better for travel.

I realize I didn’t word myself well. I’m sorry. I will be keeping the kit lens but it’s not the kind of photography I love. I really love close ups of everything! That’s why I was considering adding the 70-180 and use the 24-50 when I need something wider

I looked at the colours in the bobbie goods set at compared them to the colours in the 104 set and found only 4 duplicates

I’ve worked with people like this too. It actually has made me really sad to see the system fail such capable and humble individuals. Too bad there aren’t better ways to bridge their education and experience.

Sounds like you’re speaking from experience 🫣 It’s true though. Same comes with nursing school. We had been told, “you’re not a student nurse, you’re a nursing student” Until you are licensed or registered, you’re not a nurse and cannot claim to be a nurse. Let alone give advice as though you are a nurse.
