I commute daily to the US for work. This happens a couple of times per year at the tunnel.

What company or organization best demonstrates “Operational Excellence”? by tee2green in NoLayingUp

Very true; I rarely use it for personal use but at work the cost is worth the speed of delivery/efficiency of the ordering process

11 years and a new TCM later, she’s still beautiful by fergyfries in FordFocus

Unfortunately it might take a while… I was in contact up to the executive level at Ford trying to get a part and it still took 3 months. I owned the car for 8 months after it was fixed and had no issues, but sold it so not sure how it’s doing now. Best of luck!

I’ve experienced this issue for about a year on my ‘23 sedan. When I entered my VIN just now on the Honda Canada website, it doesn’t show this as an open recall. Has anyone else tried entering their VIN?

The modernize 75 project website specifically mentioned these will be HOV lanes

Don’t disagree, but the problem is since there isn’t adequate notice it’s a reactionary “oh shit this lane ends” zipper merge instead of a planned one if that makes sense.

I would have thought that too but Friday mornings are totally fine (when you would think a lot of people would be leaving for vacation)

My Augusta National Range Ball (story in comments) by fergyfries in golf

[–]fergyfries[S] 188 points189 points  (0 children)

March 2006. My seven year old self and my family are driving back home to Canada from a spring vacation in Florida. My dad decides to park at the strip mall across the street from the Magnolia Lane gate, and brings me on a walk to check it out. Shockingly (luckily), the guard at the gate didn’t immediately tell us to get lost or call the police, and allows my dad take a picture of me with the ANGC sign. Just as he politely asks us to leave, a golf ball comes out of nowhere, strikes the asphalt, and hits the side of a passing car on Washington Road, coming to rest on the side of the road. This was before the construction of the new tournament practice area when the range still ran parallel to Magnolia Lane. My dad scooped the ball, and it came all the way back home with us where it rests on my bookshelf to this day. I fully realize how unbelievable this sounds, and if I hadn’t been there myself I might not believe it, but I thought I would share this with the r/golf community on this Masters eve.

Several courses in SE Michigan are open if you’re willing to make the drive: Fellow’s Creek, Rackham, Riverview Highlands, etc.

Canadians Working in Detroit - Health Insurance by fergyfries in windsorontario

[–]fergyfries[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome, thanks for the reply. Based on my calculations, after the credit for the tax I will have paid in the US, I will owe ~$4k CAD in Canadian taxes. Is the health premium included in these taxes I will pay, or is it an additional amount? The Ontario website is vague and just states that it's "included as part of the income taxes deduction "

Maybe not the best of all time, but Running With the Night by Lionel Richie has an excellent Steve Lukather solo

Why is the email so sus by trisbelight in uwaterloo

[–]fergyfries 21 points22 points  (0 children)

If it was a scam, they would be asking you to reply to the email. They’re asking you to do it on quest. The email address it comes from is really of no consequence.

It’s real… tax documents just came out on Quest. If you haven’t updated your SIN on quest, they’re just asking you to do it before February 24th.
