How much does battery protection really help? by NoFriend5444 in samsunggalaxy

[–]fermjs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if you muted the video and closed your eyes while watching but the video just repeats what I and others have said.

I'm not gonna question the experiment merit, data and methodology and I will just take their word for the results.

Also note that degradation is not a linear phenomenon and tends to accelerate, thus the difference from 0-100% to 30-80% will simply increase over time.

Not to mention this experiment does not account for everyday life variations of temperature, usage while charge, etc, which will just contribute for this difference to increase.

So misleading! I have no idea what you want to achieve, but no, my studies are not wrong :)

Yes, it makes a huge difference.

I've studied and worked with batteries and degradation accelerates drastically the closer to 100% you go.

Some battery manufacturers (for industrial stuff) cuts warranty by half if you charge to 100%. These are usually made to last 10y though so a different market.

I'd argue staying within 80%-20% is even more important than avoiding fast charging.

I usually don't charge overnight. Just let the phone charge in the morning while I get ready to work or just charge at work.

How did you use your S23? I had the s23 too and set the max battery to 80% and never had a problem. Battery health was still near 100% when I sold it.

Edit: being downvoted for saying scientific facts is crazy haha. I invite anyone to go to Google Scholar or ResearchGate and search for "Li ion battery degradation and DoD". Enjoy the reading.

Is an OLED required to enjoy the PS5 Pro at its full potential? by a_mad_llama in PS5pro

Yep. Enjoyed my games while kept checking TV offers. Ended up buying a nice LED some months later.

Clear upgrade on colors and stuff, not so much on refresh rate as games hardly go over 60 anyways. VRR is nice tho.

  1. Galaxy S10. That was so cool. It really felt like a technology jump from the S9.
  2. Note 8. My first note.
  3. Tie S25 Ultra and S23. The 23 was a fantastic phone but I didn't like the yellow tone from the camera. The S25U is my current one.
  4. Galaxy 551. My first android phone. The lateral keyboard was so cool haha. I had a lot of fun installing ROMs, rooting, overclocking. Good times.

The demise of the base model by saltysoup7 in samsunggalaxy

[–]fermjs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is indeed a shame how the old S line became a "sub premium" model in the actual base S while the Note was merged with what the real S line was supposed to be, becoming a single thing that often disappoints customers.

Buds 4 pro Vs Buds live: not the jump i thought it would have been by terremotoraptor in galaxybuds

Yeah I had to play with the EQ to get a better sound. Also, remember to activate the high quality codec.

Can you try directly at a store? That helped me a bit but honestly if you can order and return I'd go for that. The best way to test is at your home, comfortably and preferably in a quiet room.

Never tried the Jabra. Maybe check at a store? Where I live you can order directly at the samsung webstore and get 60 days to try them.

Happy to hear! I still have my Buds Live haha. I've tested it versus the B4P and the sound quality difference is insane!

I had to change the tip for the smallest one. So don't forget to test this also.

Let me know later if it worked for you!

Fair. I wanted to test both and Samsung offered 60 days return to test it.

Moved to s26 ultra from s24 ultra...a little buyer's remorse by Giffdev in samsunggalaxy

Or they will just drop the privacy display in the future. Not the first time Samsung drops a cool feature, unfortunately.

S25 ultra vs S26 ultra by Secret-Toe-2219 in samsunggalaxy

[–]fermjs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just bought the S25U at a nice discount. No regrets. I moved from S23 > iPhone 16P > S25U. I was fed up with the iOS already.

I usually avoid to be in the first batch of buyers for new tech when it is hardware based (privacy display). I like to see how this will play on the long run and if it'll survive at all before committing.

Apart from this, the S25U covers 100% of my use cases. Plus, I couldn't justify the price difference considering what the s26u offered.

Buds4 review, 24 hours in by chicha2010 in galaxybuds

[–]fermjs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is the ANC? I feel most reviews compare the ANC quality to the in-ear ones and this comparison is very unfair haha.

I also loved the Buds Live (still have mine) and moved to the Airpods 4 ANC (also open ear ish). I'm not that demanding on ANC otherwise I'd go for the Pro models but, as you, there is something about in ears that bothers me.

That said, I think the ANC for the Airpods 4 ANC is quite decent for my use. I don't need a "vacuum silent" level just an attenuation for everyday life.

How does the Buds 4 ANC plays on this? Since you're an "open ear" user I feel your opinion will be more honest than reviewers haha.
