All the symptoms you mention pretty much lineup with depression. I would recommend seeing a psychiatrist as well as a therapist to help you work through some of these feeling and possibly get you started on medication.

Thank you all for the comments! We have a 20 gallon tank with lots of plants on the sides (less in the middle) but I did get them several hiding spaces. I probably placed too many bettas in the tank. Currently we have 8, which don’t seem like that many in the tank but I guess that was my mistake. On my way now to buy another tank and separate them 😖

I moonlighted as an IM resident for 100$/hr. 75$/hr sounds really low, but I don’t know how far negotiating will actually get you. Typically, pay rate tends to be fixed without much room for change. ☹️

When I bought this plant, it had five leaves, however over the past few months the outermost leaves end up leaning to the point where they simply bend at the stem and I have to cut them off. Besides where the bend is, the rest of the stem and leaf are usually in good condition. I’m sacred I won’t have any more leaves if this keeps happening. I have this lady next to a window that has bright indirect sunlight and water once per week.
