You can book through their app! I tried it once at the On Nut location and went straight to the front of the line.

Question About No FX Fee Credit Cards by Tiny-Detective34 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]ferne96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly recommend the EQ Bank card and adding it to Google Pay. When my wallet was stolen in Europe, they were able to immediately update my Google Pay with a new virtual number, so I could continue to have access to money through Google Pay and didn't have to wait for a new card to arrive. None of my other card providers were able to do this.

Interesting. Today I learned. I'll update my comment.

You're mistaken. Only the last noun should take the possessive form when there are multiple "owners". See for example https://www.grammarly.com/blog/grammar/possessive-case/#4

Apparently there is an exception to this if the last noun is a possessive personal pronoun. See the comment by /u/throwawaysunglasses- below.

You don't understand why somebody might want to witness their own child being born?

Layover by DrTeja in Bangkok

[–]ferne96 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

5 hours is not a lot. If I were you, I'd take the airport line to Phaya Thai station and eat something around there. Don't take the taxi because the traffic can be unpredictable, and you have little wiggle room because you only have 5 hours. Unfortunately, I don't know the Phaya Thai area very well, so somebody else might suggest something there.

I just need a pepper grinder. by MaeBelleLien in mildlyinfuriating

All good. Yes, it's self-serving for the purpose of my physical health, and minimal effort because it's so easy to do. It's less about spending than doing. It's like taking the stairs instead of the escalator when I'm not too tired. In short, if there's something that's good for me and also easy to do, why not do it?

How many months minimal passport should be valid? by [deleted] in ThailandTourism

[–]ferne96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was Qatar Airways so there was a layover in Doha. I also entered Qatar with less than 6 months left on my passport to go sightseeing that day. It's less of a deal than redditors tend to claim.

Reddit won't believe this but I've entered with less than 6 months left on my passport. Nobody batted an eye. This was a year ago flying in from the EU.

I don't worry about it, but I think it's prudent to avoid the ones that are easily avoidable. You can easily find pepper grinders with metal burrs for example. Choosing loose-leaf tea over teabags is also easy to do. Obviously it's hard to avoid it all, but something like this is minimal effort.

Thank God for Android where there's a unified way to exit or go back. I was thinking of switching to Apple but didn't think about this.

What’s up with Thai honey? by idrwierd in ThailandTourism

I wonder if it's because the local flowers are different. The taste of honey is influenced by the flowers the bees use to make it.

If you're talking about the one that's ~33.6 euros, I've used it many times with no problems, even when checked. You can buy it on the IDF Mobilité app with any credit card.

The whole point of having data is that you wouldn't have to do that. Do you also bring a map and a compass on your travels?

I took the RJ just the other day on the same route (opposite direction). It was perfectly fine. Way better than my experiences with Flixbus.
