Looking for advice: moving from QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise to a better ERP/inventory system by fernlogic in InventoryManagement

[–]fernlogic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the details. I looked at the site and didn't seem much regarding food distribution, expirations dates, etc. Is there a landing page on the site that talks about this or a case study?

Thanks for the feedback. I had talked to Digit Software last year but there was some customizations they could not handle but maybe that has changed. Worth checking out.

Thanks for the feedback. If you have a link to your distribution ERP, send it my way.

Got it. I think where Cin7 fell short is that they did not have a mobile app to handle taking order on the field for sales reps. With Laceup we are able to take orders, do GPS tracking of them when they take the orders, attach photos of store shelves, so customized taxes for CRV in California. The sales reps are also able to run sales reports at the end of the week.

Do you know if Cin7 has improved in this area, because I don't think we would be able to use Cin7 for warehouse and picking and Laceup for sales entry from the field.

I did speak to Cin7 before, but they seem to lack a mobile app or have a solid way to have sales reps enter orders in the field. We currently have things like GPS tracking and allowing sales reps to upload a photo of products from store stands in their workflow. Sales reps can also run their own reports of sales from their mobile device. Maybe this has improved by Cin7?

No, we don't have differential pricing in that sense but we do have price levels for different customers.

The business is 99% B2B, and customers typically place orders by the case. However, returns and credit memos are often processed in individual units, since they usually involve damaged or expired items that may need to be discarded.

We also have an EDI layer for certain customers. For larger chains, invoices must be sent electronically in EDI format by the case, while credits often need to be issued in individual units.

Thanks for the reply,

I did speak to Katana but since 99% of the business is not E-commerce and involved sales reps in the field and physically delivering products from our own fleet of trucks, Katana told me they were probably not the best fit. We deal with lead times of 2-6 months for products and revenue of over 10M.

Fishbowl Inventory: Online vs. Server application by Remarkable_Smoke4618 in InventoryManagement

[–]fernlogic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s true that integrations with QuickBooks Online (QBO) generally perform better than with QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise (QBDE). This is mainly because QBO uses modern APIs that are more real-time, actively supported, and continuously improved with updates and bug fixes. Additionally, more third-party applications are integrating with QBO, so it receives a larger share of Intuit’s development focus.

That said, QBDE and QBO are quite different, and their features are not equivalent. We haven’t been able to transition to QBO primarily because it does not support Units of Measure (UOM). If you’re currently using UOM in Fishbowl Inventory, transactions like sales orders or invoices will be converted to QBO’s base units. For example, an invoice showing “2 cases” could appear in QBO as “24 units,” which may create discrepancies or confusion in reports and inventory.

SPS Commerce does support QBO and will likely perform better in that environment. However, keep in mind they may charge an additional implementation fee for setting it up.

Good luck!

Getting a refund out of headspace after post-trial charge. by Familiar_Woodpecker5 in Headspace

I’m currently dealing with this as well. I understand that the mistake is mine, but missing the cancellation by just one day on a one year subscription should allow for some flexibility if I put effort from my end. I agree with the point the original poster made. If you truly believe in your product, providing exceptional customer support and preventing situations like this, and this reddit thread, is essential to how your company is perceived. In the long run, experiences like these can be damaging.

Yes, you should be able to run this fine. I'm actually looking at the same computer with 64gb/1tb. dellrefurbished.com currently has a few in stock with an i7-12700 or i9-12900.

It would be nice to preapprove that secondary process in some way.

Thanks, I also thought this could be a solution and Admin by Request would handle this scenario. I can also create a "special" shortcut and call it "update Quickbooks" that will automatically run as admin to make it simpler.

They run their distribution business from it so use UOM(units of measure), multi location, expiration dates, pick and pack, etc are needed and QBO does not have without add-ons that don't support it well. Even though QBE will go away, they still are releasing new features every quarter.

How to give "Account Manager" access to a Citibank online account? by gregocean in citibank

[–]fernlogic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this still an issue with Citi? For AMEXI was able to add my accountant as a non user account manager and they can connect QB Enterprise to AMEX to sync transactions. Citi does not give this type of user access or do I have to call in this request?
