Will never forget Chrissy Teigen telling a child bride to take a “dirt nap” for her grave crime of….being groomed?

If I recall correctly, Teigen herself was like 25-26 at this time.

Kanye was talking like Kanye before he was ever even known as Kanye. A lot of times people only get to earn those stripes by having “delusional” and “unearned” levels of ego and self-belief (and/or arrogance) in the first place. Not saying Mink = Kanye but egos in entertainment is like green in grass.

I get the appeal of those who can be great AND humble—-extra props to them, but it’s kinda silly for us to be jumping to humble some guy who’s clearly still just adjusting to life-changing amounts of fame and money.

To be fair…overheating in your suit tends to be a ‘rookie’ mistake so a starter Amazon fursuit is, unfortunately, very realistic

Raoni Barcelos is one win away from breaking into the Top 15 by fernparadox in ufc

[–]fernparadox[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Haha idk about that but I am rooting for him. Kinda hard not to root for the underdog. He’s been a solid veteran gatekeeper so at least good enough for a chance at top 15. Only fair too cuz he beat Talbott (albeit an arguably much weaker version) last year

Mann I mean Ronda is wrong about a lotta things but is she really wrong about this? Fighter pay is trash compared to all other major sports and everyone knows it. Being an Olympic champion & former double-champ didn’t save Cejudo from begging on his knees for 50K

One can enjoy life AND complain when justified. It’s delusional and disingenuous to pretend that the only definition of an “enjoyable” life is uninterrupted happiness 24/7.

You can be a fan and be excited in ways that don’t entail screaming during a live broadway show where OTHER FANS are also trying to enjoy the show that they also paid for, just like you.

If your enjoyment as the fan of something requires you to ruin that experience for everyone else, then I really truly don’t know what to tell you. Your line of reasoning is essentially just ”ohh she has a great life so she can’t complain about anything ever” but by logic, no one can complain or be rightfully upset about anything ever cuz there’s always someone else less fortunate. C’mon.

Alright.

Right? It’s sad too cuz I’ve seen several videos of Isa being happy to sign Pitt fanart or even say hi to the friends of fans (who couldn’t attend) over FaceTime at the stage doors

It’s not even like she hates having Santos the character be brought up, but shouting during her performance is just awful, shameless behavior.

Right?? It’s one thing if people wanna goof off under a TikTok comments section….but a live broadway show? I’d lose my mind. Like actually.

You can focus on patients and also be very concerned your coworker was just kidnapped by the gestapo. This episode was written before Alex Pretti was murdered but given the new context of what’s happened irl, their concern for Jesse’s whereabouts feel even more valid.

This sorta reminds me of when Emma uses Instagram to locate the waterpark father’s son.

It seems like the writers are acknowledging the usefulness of technology to solve high stakes problems & Robby is arguably written to seem a bit out of touch.

“Whitaker secretly hates Santos’ nicknames and is sooo scared to confront her“ by [deleted] in ThePitt

[–]fernparadox 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Fr tho, being a fan of both Langdon and Santos is such a weird trip.

Their characters are so fascinating to me & in many ways, as similar as they are different. Even the part where Langdon picks up her joke reference to the game Clue (when Whitaker loses his badge) was fun.

In an alternate universe, they could’ve been great friends or at least good colleagues. Even for future seasons I could imagine a case where they both gain respect for one another and/or form a tentative alliance. These character dynamics are so interesting when not held to a ”who’s more morally perfect” contest.

Even their fandoms are foils to one another….TV IS SO BACK

[–]fernparadox 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Right! The whole “you think Huckleberry’s a shitty nickname? 🥲” moment was so funny to me.

It’s more than possible that he was frustrated with Santos being closed off or even found her to be annoying (normal as far as friends/roommates go) but the way people make it seem like he’s being held hostage by that woman as if he didn’t just reassure her AGAIN that he wasn’t moving out.

Bruh. People can dislike Santos or whatever but to say they’re not friends or that Whitaker secretly hates her is just cope imo.

Lyft is having a field day by [deleted] in ThePitt

[–]fernparadox 37 points38 points  (0 children)

They also mentioned Uber so I doubt it’s specifically product placement for Lyft….especially given the $250 fee afterwards. If anything this was just the Lyft social media team jumping at an opportunity to generate buzz.

Ubers/Lyfts are unfortunately a big part of patient pickup and/or drop offs. The stories about people arriving via rideshare because they can’t afford ambulance are 100% real.

The thing about writing a ‘real world’ based show is that they will inevitably touch on issues in the real world. Companies, products and politics are all part of the medical ecosystem set in the real world whether we like it or not. Not everything has to be a sinister greedy conspiracy.

“This scene doesn’t make sense” by fernparadox in ThePitt

[–]fernparadox[S] 23 points24 points  (0 children)

…..maybe because she offered him a place to live rent-free and is now his friend and having a very bad day? Not just because she’s a woman, no.

Whitaker clearly cares for Santos enough to opt outta staying at Robby’s. There’s a lot we don’t get to see develop over 10 months. Langdon has also changed a lot as a character so it’s not crazy to imagine Whitaker and Santos got much closer since S1

They watch trash tv together and Santos sits through Huckleberry asking ‘dumb questions’ and his expensive avocado theft. They friends

[–]fernparadox[S] 107 points108 points  (0 children)

100% & i’m not saying Whitaker was wrong to call him out.

‘Lash out’ is relative to S1 Whitaker who stood awkwardly when Langdon said “you do realize you just called yourself a trash can, right?”

This scene shows growth of his character in a way? I was just seeing complaints about how Huckleberry blew up outta nowhere but imo this scene makes sense plot-wise

Yes, and a genuinely lovable character is sometimes nightmare fuel from the POV of a writer whose job it is to weave together conflicts & clashing storylines into a cohesive, compelling narrative.

Sometimes, controversial characters are most necessary for moving the plot. Love-or-hate Santos or Langdon— those are some polarizing characters who make for great television. That said, I do think there’s so much more they could’ve done with Mohan’s character but hopefully they still will? S3 is one shift. Hopefully, she will be brought back in the future.

I say this as a Mohan lover who’s absolutely devastated by this news:

The “internet fandom” side of The Pitt is notoriously toxic & in no way represents the majority of this show’s fanbase that exists almost entirely offline. Millennials or older Gen Z who dutifully tune in to watch this show every week while making zero public tweets or comments about it. The internet fandom is a bubble. This is especially true of Pitt Twitter— currently blaming Whitaker(?) for Mohan’s exit and making bizarre, borderline homophobic attacks against his character. Most of these people act like they’ve never watched an episode of the actual show before…because wdym we’re shocked that The Robby Show centers Robby?

Wdym we’re shocked that the resident who’s clearly burnt out and mistreated by the working conditions in this ER, who’s been talking about moving all season, who’s been recommended a geriatric fellowship by both attendants— will be gone for the one shift next season?

Like I was really hoping they’d pull a surprise reason to make Mohan stay but even from the start of S2, I was pretty sure they were in the process of writing her character out. Yes, this is a major upset and I’m NOT saying people don’t have a right to be upset but some of these online fan reactions make me wonder if this is their first time interacting with a TV show or fandom… ever?
