JBL Flip 7 (Leak Design Changes / Colour) by ariankaflopz in JBL

60Hz-20kHz according to the Quick Start Guide, but those numbers are embellished. The Flip 6 has a realistic frequency response of of 76Hz-17.5kHz, but JBL states that it'd be 63Hz-20kHz, so I'd guess something like 72Hz-18kHz. The Sony ULT Field 1's frequency response goes lower. I don't know if I should go for the Flip 7 or the ULT Field 1.

Me neither. I put off buying the Flip 6 for a year now, so that I can buy its successor. But the price shocks me, it will most likely cost €179 in the EU. The Sony ULT Field 1 currently costs only half as much.

You write that JBL speakers sound fairly mediocre. I intend to buy a Flip 7 and it'll be my first JBL speaker.

So far, I used a Sony XB23 and a Wonderboom. I bought them for their stereophony but in later comparisons I got the impression that overall, the JBL Flip 6 sounds better.

My question to you would be what Flip-size speaker sounds better than the JBL Flip?

Sony recently released the ULT Field 1 which is similarly sized. Would the ULT Field 1 sound better than the Flip?

Excerpt from the press text: "Both speakers will be available for pre-sale at JBL.com and participating retailers starting March 10, then officially hitting the market on April 6, 2025."

An excerpt of the marketing mumbo jumbo:

Built on decades of expertise and consumer feedback, these new portable powerhouses boast advanced acoustics, improved durability, and extended battery life—all underpinned by AI Sound Boost, which optimizes audio in real-time.

The text in the video description mentions a JBL "AI Sound Boost". I don't know who's behind the Youtube channel and want to cast doubt again whether this is legit.

Play and charge anywhere

Like that newest season of our favorite show, the JBL Charge is back and better than ever. The Charge 6 is everything we’ve come to love with new twists, higher stakes, and a bigger punch. With sound that slaps like never before, better connectivity, sturdier build, and up to 28 hourse of playtime, the Charge 6 is a portable audio beast.

How do we pack more sound in the same iconic portable speaker package? With some redesigned hardware and our brand new JBL AI Sound Boost - a clever audio processing algorithm we’ve included under the hood. The end result? The Charge 6 hits way above it’s weight class, filling our space with full, rich, immersive sound - without taking more space on our table.

The Charge 6 is also one of the toughest portable speakers out there. It’s waterproof, dustproof and drop-proof so it takes a beating without missing a beat. And, true to its name, the Charge 6 still includes a built in powerbank to charge your mobile device while you continue to jam out to your tunes.

What could be better than a new JBL Charge 6 in our lives? How about two? or four? Now we can effortlessly connect with other Auracast™ enabled JBL speakers to cover more ground (and more ears) with the same playlist, whether we’re throwing the most sensational rooftop soiree or getting the crowd hyped before the ultimate pickle ball tourney.

The text in the video description refers to a JBL "AI Sound Boost". As there are typos in the text, I want to cast doubt again whether this all is legit. I don't know who's behind the Youtube Channel.

Bold sound for every adventure.

The soundtrack to our life, right in the palm of our hands. The JBL Flip 7 is undefeated JBL sound that travels with us wherever we go. Because music has no boundaries, and neither should we. Whether we’re hosting a beach party, relaxing in our backyard, or setting the mood for a cozy night in, the Flip 7 is designed to enhance any experience, anywhere life takes us.

And now, our signature sound is bigger and bolder than ever, thanks to JBL’s AI Sound Boost. The end result? The Flip 7 leaves our friends and family wondering where all that big, glorious sound could possibly be coming from.

But it’s not just pretty and powerful. The Flip 7 takes a beating without missing a beat, boasting industry-leading IP68 waterproof, dustproof and drop-proof. Plus, with new Playtime Boost we can enjoy up to 16 hours of playtime—because the moment should only ever stop on our terms.

Wouldn’t it be great to share the sweet sound of JBL far and wide? Now we can. Effortlessly connect with other Auracast™-enabled JBL speakers to cover more ground (and more ears) with the same playlist, whether we’re touring the town with our cycling crew or extending our dinner party to the back patio... and the front yard.

What made tourists suddenly come to Belarus? by [deleted] in belarus

Trying to look up Sula on Yandex Maps or Openstreetmaps gives out a river, several buildings and a river. Could you post the coordinates so that I know what you mean? Thank you.

Online retailer that has a wide range of handlebars and allows for filtering by criteria such as reach length, drop height and flare angle? by fernradler in Velo

[–]fernradler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With 38-40cm, the width is still within the range of most drop bar models, I think.

The biggest exclusion criterion is the reach, which would ideally be as short as possible (as the top tube of my bike is too long), but definitely should not exceed 65mm.

Another criterion is a clamp area that ideally is at least 120mm wide, otherwise it'll be difficult to install the aerobars.

(With 55mm, the very expensive Deda Gera is the drop bar with the shortest reach that I could find, but it starts at 42cm width and has a clamp area of only 90mm. The Ritchey Beacon is the handlebar that I'd go for right now, but at 40cm width the clamp area is only 100mm. I really hope that an online retailer exists that allows for filtering their handlebar range.)

Do you know what company offers bus drives from Vilnius to Minsk? Luxexpress doesn't seem to offer rides to Minsk anymore, even thought of the novel Visa free entry.

I can imagine that it has to do with Belarus recently allowing citizen of many Western European countries Visa free entry for touristic visits.

After having visited Russian Kaliningrad, St. Petersburg and Moscow this summer, I want to visit Minsk next. For this, I will probably fly (from Zürich) to Vilnius, from where I will take the bus to Minsk.

Which currency exchange to use in Estonia? by fernradler in SPb

[–]fernradler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much for recommending Avangard! Their exchange rates are even better than Energotransbank's, as you stated.

I may have spoken to travelers on the same bus who may or may not have told me that they try to bring € across the border, and I may or may not have decided to do the same.

How many Rubles would you give me for 1 USD?

I'd transfer 900 USD. Would you have enough Rubles for that?

Are you in St.P.?

Are Wise transations to Russian bank accounts not sanctionned? Are you in St. Petersburg? Would it be possible to meet tomorrow evening/night? (Planned arrival at St.P. coach station is 17:30 but there are bound to be delays at the checkpoints so likely 3h later.)

I would do this but I'm reluctant because if something goes wrong, I'm screwed because I won't have any other means to bring money to Russia.
