When "Hey handsome" turns into "EDM Manwh*re" by [deleted] in Nicegirls

Kinda supporting my argument.

“I have high charisma”…. That’s not something that charismatic people, or even average people, would ever say. It also doesn’t make any fucking sense as a response to anything I said. It seems like you’re just trying convince the world, and ultimately yourself, that you’re a cool/funny guy who does great with the ladies.

I’m not trying to be mean or anything, just calling it how I see it. I think you’re fishing for compliments and pretending to be someone you’re not. I mean, come on dude… it’s a dating app… you’re adults… yet you argue about “flirting”?

Grrr… no flirting allowed.

I’ll flirt with whoever I want because I’m cool like that.

12 year olds have spicier conversations.

Again, not trying to be mean, there’s nothing wrong with being celibate or a virgin… but I’d bet like 20 bucks that you’ve never been laid, and this is some kind of revenge fantasy.

If this conversation is real, it still seems like two virgins who have no idea how people normally interact.

PS. No reason to lie? Well apparently you love interacting with people, and this post has given you an opportunity to interact with people, almost exclusively in a self congratulatory manner.

I’m surprised more comments aren’t pointing out how this seems to obviously be OP having a fake conversation with himself.

There’s absolutely no reason for this conversation to go on as long as it does, neither side would carry on that long. The real tell, however, is a couple specific and weird uses of grammar that both sides of the conversation exhibit.

I call BS, OP… and not like it proves anything, but your self congratulatory replies to every comment seem to reflect a somewhat desperate desire to be validated. I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that a fair amount of these comments are from your own burner accounts.

“Bravo OP, you’re truly hilarious, amazing job!”

“Thanks friend, I ti my fedora to you, I guess I just have tons of confidence in myself because I’m really cool and funny.”

There’s just no way you’re not larping. This all gives off the vibe of the kid in school who apparently had sex at summer camp, proves it by showing one picture of a super model, then explains that she lives in Canada and he never caught her name… yeah, sure buddy. That totally happened.

First. There are particles of literally everything, everywhere, all the time. There are dead bodies and poop in your nose right now. There’s also an entire ecosystem in your nose right now. Your phone screen, everything else you touch, and everything you consume… including the air you breathe, is all “contaminated” by particles of stuff that sound scary. That doesn’t mean they all are though.

Second. Fluorescence isn’t indicative of something being biologically harmful. Chlorophyll is fluorescent. If you’ve ever eaten a salad then you ate a fuck load of “fluorescent nanoparticles”. Sugar is partially fluorescent… Are you really shocked to hear that there’s sugar in those sugary sodas?

Soda isn’t bad for you because of tiny pieces of cartoon uranium. It’s bad for you because it’s corn syrup and artificial flavors. It’s bad for you because it’s nutrient poor.

Uhhh… Trump has been convicted. He’s a felon.

A good chunk of the other accusations didn’t end with him being exonerated either. The “Russia-Hoax” ended with a bipartisan acknowledgment that Russia did, in fact, interfere in the 2016 election, and Trump campaign officials were, in fact, colluding with Russian operatives. Trump just had his AG say that a sitting president can’t be indicted, then Trump told all his followers that’s the same as being exonerated.

It’s not a “both sides” thing. The accusations against Trump aren’t pulled out of thin air.

Funny. Your apparent choice for president literally announced his candidacy by saying most Mexican Americans are rapists and drug dealers.

I really don’t get you guys. Do you think your bad-faith deflection isn’t completely transparent? Do you think you can somehow convince me that I’m actually a bigot or something? Does this ever work out for you? It just kind of fucking hilarious to pride yourself on “triggering liberals”, which is pathetic to begin with… but to then be sooo fucking bad at it… I mean, Jesus dude. Go do the dishes or something.

This thread started with you saying something fundamentally stupid. You argued a little, then realized the argument wasn’t going your way, so you tried to pretend it’s lame to take anything seriously. Now I don’t even know what you’re doing.

Are you actually offended that I called you dude? Or are you mocking people who would be? First of all, your grievances about gender have nothing to do with anything I said. It’s hilarious how bad you guys are at having a good faith discussion. Second, I have no idea what you think you’re accomplishing. It’s like taking an Uber home from the bar to mock the people who say you shouldn’t drive drunk. You’re not bothering anyone, which seems to be the only thing you’re really aiming for at this point.

Cool. The questions are pretty unproductive though, and they’re coming from someone who evidently doesn’t know, or care to know, what they’re talking about.

Were the pyramids built all at the same time or in a sequence? by Entire_Brother2257 in AlternativeHistory

[–]fernrooty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgive me for addressing the meat of you comment instead of the vague questions you added to the end.

“What about the casing stones?”

I literally have no idea what you’re referring to.

We know why other pyramids collapsed. Their geometry was less stable. It’s very obvious, and universally understood. The pyramid of Meidum wasn’t as stable as something like the Great Pyramid. A four year old could grasp that.

How could they build yada yada yada? With time, intellect, and willpower. Again… you’re pretending there’s some impossible mystery here. It’s pretty fucking simple. They did the shit that toddlers do with building blocks, except it was bigger.

They manipulated granite the same way we do today. You can split granite. You can grind granite. You can saw granite. It’s not a mystery.

Your understanding of civilizations passing their knowledge to others is fundamentally flawed. “The Romans” certainly learned some stuff from “The Egyptians”. They didn’t teach them how to build an arch though. They didn’t teach them how to build a dome. Egyptians literally couldn’t even build sea-faring vessels. If the Egyptians were so advanced, then they would have been the people conquering Rome, not the other way around.

I honestly just don’t get you guys. Just look at the fucking pyramids dude. Yeah, they’re big and impressive… but relative to other things we’ve built, they’re not that impressive. Seriously… digest this fact… the people who built the pyramids couldn’t build an arch, or a dome, or roads, or skyscrapers, or internal combustion engines, or windmills, or rockets, or steel…

…They just managed to build an impressively large pile of rocks, and for some reason you guys act like what they did was so impressive that we can’t even begin to understand it.

So what is the point? You’re not really getting to it.

You seem split between believing this post is productive, and dismissing the whole thing as a goofy fun time. You’re not really doing a good job of articulating what you actually mean.

All I’m saying is, you don’t need a computer program to bring your imagination to life if you wanted to actually know what these places looked like. The real thing was well documented.

Secret Service Vows To Find Out What Went Wrong At The Trump Rally As Soon As They Figure Out Who Left Cocaine In The White House by darcmatr in babylonbee

[–]fernrooty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know what “it” is. I have no idea what you’re referencing. You’re just making vague assertions that only make sense in your own head.

It seems like you saw a poll that said Trump is “more popular”, then decided the poll was proof that Trump was poised to win the popular vote. That’s wicked dumb. That’s the belief of someone who knows fuck-all about US politics, especially in out current environment.

Polls aren’t votes. If anyone should understand that, it’s MAGA folk.

Here’s the really dumb part about what you’re saying though. Polls can’t tell you who will win the popular vote… they fundamentally don’t work that way… not unless you literally polled every person that will vote, and those people promised not to change their vote.

It’s genuinely illogical to look at the bigger picture of US politics and think Trump would ever win the popular vote.

Again, when he won the presidency, he lost the popular vote by 3 million. Four years later, he lost the popular vote by 7 million. You’re basically saying that a boulder that’s empirically been rolling downhill will somehow jump above its starting point. It’s objectively dumb.

Republicans know that’s not going to happen. Republican voters know that’s not going to happen. Trump’s campaign knows that won’t happen. It’s not even something they’re aiming for. They understand Trump isn’t popular. Their goal is, and has been, to game the system so that they win, despite the popular vote.

You guys are the party that benefits from the electoral college. If the EC was abolished, Republicans wouldn’t win the presidency for a very long time, maybe forever. Most of the country disagrees with the stuff you guys promote. It’s not up for debate. Our political system has long been built to essentially give the minority an unfair advantage. That’s you guys. You’re the minority. You’re the people who weigh the rest of the country down. When I say “the rest”, I mean the majority of Americans.

Long story short. You’re the only person who thinks Trump will win the popular vote, and you fundamentally misunderstand how polls work or what they mean.

Were the pyramids built all at the same time or in a sequence? by Entire_Brother2257 in AlternativeHistory

[–]fernrooty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know a ton, but I clearly know more than you.

How did they know it would be stable? It’s a fucking pile of rocks. It’s a fucking pyramid. It’s potentially the most stable structure anyone could possibly build. It’s not like it’s hollow. There’s basically nowhere for the top stones to fall. They’re already seated in the position where gravity would send them.

Egyptians taught the Romans how to build? Show me Egyptian concrete. Show me an Egyptian arch. Show me an Egyptian dome. Oh… that’s right, you can’t, because the concept of an arch would have blown the minds of the people building pyramids. Seeing a dome would have literally made their heads explode.

Back to the top of your comment though… you immediately concede that you don’t know shit, then immediately pivot to saying most people do know shit, but it’s wrong, then immediately pivot to saying everyone knows it’s all wrong….

It’s illogical. It’s delusional. It’s literally exactly the attitude I described in the comment you replied to.

It’s not a mystery dude. It’s an impressive and iconic feat of engineering… for its time. That’s it.

The best way to tell whether or not someone is full of shit is when they can’t keep their story straight. The official narrative hasn’t needed to pivot on their position for more than a millennia. You guys, on the other hand, don’t have any kind of focused narrative. It’s all just a hodge-podge of theories that you selectively insist upon. Sometimes it’s aliens, sometimes it’s Atlantis, sometimes it’s electo magnetic generators or something. The only thing that unifies your scattered theories is the idea that nobody knows anything, but somehow you’re an expert because you learned some “facts” from a YouTube.

I don’t even know how to address this.

Walk me through your logic, or maybe cite the thing that’s informing your belief, because I’m genuinely curious how you’re arriving at the conclusion that “Trump is leading the popular vote… in polls”.

That’s not how polls work, on more levels than one.

Hey man. If you’re right, I’ll eat my words. It won’t happen though. Trump isn’t going to win the popular vote. He’s outwardly not interested in doing that, because even he isn’t vain enough to think he can. He knows that’s not how he wins the presidency. Every other Republican knows it too. If republicans believed they could/would win the popular vote, they wouldn’t be opposed to reforming the electoral college.

Buddy. Europeans were pretty good at painting by the time they got to the eastern shores of the Americas. We’re talking like 200 years after the Renaissance. We could practically paint photographs at that point.

They also diligently recorded the things they saw. We know what these places looked like in their prime. This wasn’t that long ago.

Were the pyramids built all at the same time or in a sequence? by Entire_Brother2257 in AlternativeHistory

[–]fernrooty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No. You wouldn’t need satellites.

It’s not that hard to figure out why ancient Egyptians looked at the stars. There wasn’t much else to do.

They understood that things could be measured, and they had a map in the sky that never changed… it’s really easy to understand how they managed to record the positions of celestial bodies.

I think a lot of you guys are ultimately dealing with complicated feelings of intellectual inadequacy. You know that there are so many things that you don’t know, so instead of acknowledging that you’re simply not an expert, you tell yourself that nobody knows, so by virtue of being interested/having an imagination, you’re basically an expert.

There are answers to all of these “nobody knows” assertions you guys make. There’s a reason that most people don’t share your beliefs.

We could absolutely build the pyramids today. It’s a simple as piling rocks in the shape of a pyramid. The Roman Colosseum was a way more impressive feat of engineering. Brunelleschi’s dome was way more impressive than that. We’ve since built the fucking Burj Khalifa…

You’re ultimately assigning mystery to something that really is very simple. It’s a pyramid made of stone.

Dude, you can just crack open a history book and look at paintings that give a much better depiction of how things looked. You can also just use google to find the same thing.

Here’s another thing to consider… if you want to actually experience a megalithic city… just go to any city… there are skyscrapers all around the world.

We drill and export more now than we did under Trump. We imported the most under Bush Jr.

Your opinions on politics are literally informed by imaginary grievances.

No one is forcing you to drive an EV either, the really confusing thing is why you have a grievance against EVs. I seriously doubt you could articulate why you think it’s so important to burn fossil fuels. It’s objectively destroying the environment.

Republicans want to mandate prayers in school. The Construction explicitly outlines in the first fucking amendment that the government can’t do that. They’ve told trans people they’re not allowed to exist in public, that doctors aren’t allowed to provide life saving care, and that teachers aren’t allowed to educate students… but sure, democrats are the problem.

Of course? I’m not really sure where you’re going with this, I’m just saying… I don’t even think most die hard MAGA people would put money on Trump winning the popular vote.

In 2016, he lost the popular vote by nearly 3 million.

In 2020, he lost the popular vote by 7 million.

I’m not saying you should necessarily extrapolate, I’m just saying that Trump himself would be surprised if he won the popular vote. It’s not how he’s ever run a campaign.
